What's on your (PHOTO) Friday Menu?

Funny. That bromelain is exactly why they used it. And when I googled, the study that came up was from the 80's. Granted, they just put it into my stomach...not into my veins. Here's hoping there's been an update on the science!

I saw Accent at Walmart today! I still remember picking it up some years ago because it's a flavor enhancer and then finding out it was pure MSG. Ha.

MSG definitely won't kill you - it's in almost all processed foods! It's really just a salt. Very, very, very few people are sensitive to it, even though a lot of people claim they are. The same ingredient that some people are sensitive to in MSG is also found in a lot of other foods - like parmesan cheese. I sometimes ask people who claim to be sensitive to MSG if they eat parmesan cheese. Nine times out of ten, they do - so they're not sensitive to glutamate (the active ingredient in MSG). Of course, I don't clue them in to any of this....

Yeah! Wild, isn't it? I was super out of it when I came to, of course. This container of tenderizer was on the counter next to the bed. They mixed it with water every four hours and injected it into the tube in my stomach. Lots more graphic details that go along with that.
Apparently bromelain helps to break down objects and since they diagnosed a bezoar, they felt it was the appropriate treatment. Googling later, I also learned it's been treated with Coke, too.
Either way, I took meat tenderizer every four to six hours for four days to break down the suspected bezoar of unknown origin. I'm not ashamed to say I've ordered some and if I have to sip on meat tenderizer once a week to keep this from happening again, it's totally on my menu.

Happy Friday!! I am ready for a good day today and a wonderful weekend!
your kitty sons are so cute!
QOTD - if you don't use a top sheet, don't you have to wash all the blankets more frequently? I like to put my weighted blanket between the top sheet and the first normal blanket because that is a beast to clean; I did have it in a duvet cover for a while but getting it into it and out of it was a workout...and then it would always get twisted around and annoying. So, yes, team top sheet here!
Light meeting friday since a lot of my regular meeting people are traveling today, I was going to put my new chair together after work but I hear it raining out there so maybe that will wait until tomorrow -- I'll either hit grocery story today and do the chair tomorrow or vice versa; need to give the house a quick straighten up, I'll do a row before work and pilates this afternoon and that should be it for today. Weekend will be fun, nothing much for tomorrow and then Sunday is Wine and Chalk (which they confirmed they have moved inside..hard to make cool chalk designs on wet sidewalks) and dinner with friends at my house. Oh, I'd better check how much propane I have.
My pictures today are of my new drought tolerant/native plantings in my front yard. I took out the lawn in December to move towards the xeriscape model. You can't quite tell on the left that little oval is planted with native sedges which will grow super fast but they start out looking like little mislaid clumps of grass. Since one of the pictures also has one of my trees in it, I put the after from the hail too. Poor tree...and the after looks like a botanical crime scene.
Menu today
coffee plus half and half X2
grilled chicken and polenta
queso fundido prepared meal
built bar
Have a great day and weekend!

Botanical crime scene is no joke!
Do summers get dry for you? I'm just curious about removing the lawn. In most places they do it to keep from watering during drought.

We're considered an arid to high desert climate. Water is a very scarce resource here and we should not allow lawns (or pools or golf courses), in my opinion! I think we have had more drought years than not over my lifetime; the thing most don't realize is that because of our arid climate most of our snow is really low moisture and when we have the seasons where it goes from winter to summer, it doesn't melt, it evaporates. The dry out has gotten a lot worse with climate change - we used to only have fire season from July to about October but now it's pretty much year round. We've had multiple fires already this year.
Lol, probably more than you wanted to know, clearly this is one of those topics I can talk about at the drop of a hat!
TLDR - yes, our summers are very dry!

No, that's exactly what I was wondering, thanks. Boo for sublimation!
From your photos, I thought it would be wetter there.
I can't imagine why they build thousands of homes in places where grass cannot grow, then put in lawns. It's insane. As usual, we are very late in doing anything about it. And good for you.
If we banned golf courses, women would be murdering men in droves. Maybe there's another alternative.

Golf courses with no grass -- sand traps only:-). Think of the increase in difficulty! (I say that like I know anything more than the words "sand trap").
