Good morning. We had a real nice day yesterday and Lincoln's museum is terrific. We also saw his home and neighborhood, The Acts of Intolerance sculpture, the Old and the New Capital and his law office/post office. Had a crappy lunch at a highly recommended restaurant. Terrible service and just did not dig what I ordered. That part wasn't their fault. Roger ordered a local specialty. A horseshoe. It's a slice of Texas toast, piled with ham, coated in rare*****eese sauce and then has French fries piled on top. I forgot to take a picture but it would have fed a family of four. How are these people not all dead from coronary disease? After the nice day out we came home and I did make roasted chicken and loved it. Today shall be the Frank Lloyd Wright house, Lincoln's Tomb and then over to New Salem to wander around.

QoTD. I strive to be like dad and I do have his patience and his kindness. But I know I have a lot of Mom in me and can be very demanding and erratic. That sounds terrible, like my Mom had no good characteristics...but it was a bit rough being her kid.

food today looks like

B. Leftover flank steak and guacamole

L. Out so I'm hoping for a better experience!

D. Roasted pork belly, salad and a half slice of cheddar bread.

Peace Everybody

I don't think any FLW house could compare to Falling Water. We have lots of FLW houses and buildings in Wisconsin, because he's from here (Madison, actually - where I live - he was born and raised here. And the original Taleisin, his studio and residence during his middle years - is in Spring Green, which is about 45 minutes from here). There are also several in the Chicago area, many of which we've seen. But Falling Water - wow. For years DH and i have talked about flying to Pittsburgh for a few days, and renting a car and driving down to see Falling Water. A masterpiece!

Good morning. I hate Goggle FI. I want my Verizon back. ugh. Goggle Fi is a joke for business. They are messed up so badly. Their support has some really stupid people. I need to do some changes to the account. ugh.

Yesterday I spent 3 hrs on phone with the support people to get a replacement for a phone that just stopped working. Not my personal phone, but a phone of another user. And that's where the problem started. As an idea - in a middle of the first call- 45 min into it - they told me they need to talk to her to verify she is ok with getting the replacement phone. And then where the **** show started.

For the next 20 min I as trying to explain to them that:

1 She already talked to support and she placed the claim ticket on, but I, as an owner of the account Google needed me to authorize the swap.

2. She doesn't have a phone at the present since hers is dead and I can't get her on a phone.

3. Yes, she called Google, but she had to go to the neighbors to use their phone to talk to Google help. No - she can't go there again, they left the house. yes, she saw them.

4.She and I are texting on the FB app. that's how we can communicate. I can patch her though microphone - from FB voice - NO that wasn't good enough.

And then the girl just hang up on me after she told me she can't help me.

I calmed down. And since the issue was not resolved - Her phone is still not working-not 100% dead, but not working. I had to call again hopping I get someone else. Maybe a little smarter someone else. Another 2 hrs was more productive, to a point. They have a total mess in the system. To replace the phone - and get a brand new - not refurbished - I have top BUY a new phone, then return the old one. But - there is a problem with the way Google has the phone SSN (IMEI #) recorded in the system. And if we return the wrong phone - we won't get the refund. So... I have to call them again today to resolve the issue.

If we first return the broken phone, they may send us a refurbished or a new one. Yeap. with a high probability she gets a refurbished unit. Her phone has been used for just 15-20 days.

At this point I'm done with them. Plus - I already had an issue with my phone that I couldn't make phone calls, showed no internet, could restart it... it just lost connections as it was showing it had connection. We have 2 phones that it happened to. So... I need to deal with this crap.

DON'T GET GOOGLE FI if you want to have a reliable phone.

OK then.

QOTD: my Mom, 100%. My sister is like my father family, we think.

Menu

ugh.. coffee tea. water.. whatever..

Lunch: chees and ham pickles rollup

D: beef roast.

G'morning all!

Late post for me. I totally subscribe to the notion that brownies, anything chocolate actually, is the best medicine. It's my coping mechanism. I didn't even know today is all you wanna eat day, because I think I started celebrating yesterday.

My witching hr is always mid afternoon. So yesterday I did good until about 2:00 pm and then the floodgates open. I usually need a work crisis to succumb and it happened. I have been working from home full time since DS was born, so about 21 yrs. And my way of keeping it together was getting something chocolate-y to munch on while working on a project that stressed me. That has been my MO and it's hard to break it. Nowadays I try and do mostly protein forward snacks but still totally not planned. But around 5:00 pm I got myself together and went for a vigorous wog to get out of the funk, so at least that part was good.

QOTD: I look like my dad and have his humor. I always aspired to be like my mom. She was the epitome of a professional woman for me, but I feel I fall short. She was a smooth player, she was a diplomat after all, and I can never be that cool. My siblings say I'm more like our grandma, keeping everybody on the straight and narrow and organizing everybody. I loved my grandma but sometimes she was very strict with her rules, I hope I am more flexible than her.

My meals yesterday:

  • Coffee
  • Hb eggs + tuna
  • jello, jerky, yasso icecream, cottage cheese icecream, barebells bar, quest chips
  • Skipped dinner after all that snack
  • E: 5 miles wog

Happy jr Fri-yay!

I love the get in some exercise to get out of a funk approach. I can't believe I have become one of those people because I used to want to stab them.
