My usual rant to never be embarrassed to read what you like, watch what you like, listen to what you like. People who judge/gatekeep/stick up their noses are asshats and should understand that just because something isn't for you, doesn't mean it's not for someone else, let people enjoy what they enjoy.

Reading anything is great.
I love Oprah and Resse's books too.
When in college (Boston) and not having enough money, I would literally go by weight. I would go to supermarket, in the paperback section, and choose the book with most pages for $5.99. I think that was the price of all paperbacks back then. I really couldn't care less what it was as long as it would last me a week.

That's funny and a great idea. The crazy coupon people also say that is how you should select your produce that is a specific price (i.e. $0.99 per mango- weigh the mangos to select the biggest/weightiest one is the best bang for the cost).

I definitely appreciate a large book. Unless it's Anna Karenina. I did not appreciate how that one would never end

When my Bookclub picked everyone bailed except the woman that picked it and me. Honestly it was a test of wills at that point, who will win the book or me? (It was me but barely)

It was brutal but I managed to get through Finnegans Wake. Definitely the hardest reading experience I ever had.

Mornin' All!
I have to take my mother to the dentist this morning (8:30 am) to see what's up with her jaw (I'm thinking arthritis/TMJ - but we'll see). I'm going to retirement party tonight. Otherwise, nothing. It'll be a beautiful day today, so I'll be out on my bike since the rain is returing for the weekend. I'm going to try for 20 miles today (have been doing 15-ish miles the last few times I've been out).
I watched a fantastic movie last night - it's for my film discussion group that meets on Friday. "Petite Maman". It's free on Kanopy, for those who have access (and pretty cheap on some other streaming sites, like Amazon Prime, Google Play, Youtube, etc). Wow - just a great little film.
QOTD: nonfiction for sure (actually, the genre I have the most of is probably cookbooks - although those would be a subgenre of nonfiction, I suppose...)
B: skyr with 1/2 mango, coffee with half & half
MS: I'll have a protein shake if I don't bike until this afternoon (otherwise, I'll swap this with AS, since I don't want to have to deal with having to find a bathroom if I'm out on my bike!)
L: protein oatmeal topped with L&F creme brule and tahini
AS: protein bar or protein muffin
D: not sure because I'll be at the retirement party (features refreshments, not a sit down dinner - but I'm sure there'll be a lot of food there...)
have a great day, everyone!
