BTW:

Today is 15th anniversary of my RNY surgery. 15 freaking years.

And I'm 5-8 lbs away from a personal goal. Not bad at 15 years out, 62y young.

Life have been interesting during the lastv15 years. I learned a lot about myself, nutrition, blood work and many many many medical issues. In some areas i know more that should be allowed for non medical person (scientific Journals, conferences, studies, research, etc.). I can quickly find out of the doc is really educated or educated moron. I met a bunch of the last types. Some arevsimply ignorant and don't want to learn new things - or don't have the time, others - are so limited that they are - can be dangerous to patients.

Life goes on.

G'morning all!

Jen - The coffee meme is too cute, and I figured most mornings would be like that because you wake up so early. Very happy your friend is doing better and I'm sure the bday plans in June will be off the charts.

Great weekend. Weather wise seemed like it was November; on Sat rain and winds. I decided to give the beach another chance and wog on the beach. I have horrible memories of when I was heavier and the dry sand was just hard to walk on. Well, it doesn't matter that I am 110 lbs lighter, I still hate running on the beach...I'm going back to the forest. On Sunday we drove 220 miles to see sunshine and hike a 5.5 miles loop, I refused to run that simply because my legs were tired from the beach Wog. But the flowers were in bloom and the colors were just gorgeous. DH who is 5th generation Californian had never been to this park; leave it to me, a foreigner to know about this park. Of course I didn't tell him I follow a hiking acct on IG that shares the special places they hike in the bay area.

QOTD: I am the planner, but I'd love to travel with somebody who plans it all. For once I'd love to show up at the airport without knowing anything else but the destination.

My meals yesterday:

  • Coffee + barebells bar
  • Wing stop - Cajun drum sticks
  • Jello, cottage cheese icecream
  • Caldosa (crab ceviche w/quest chips)
  • E: 5.5 miles hike

Happy start of the week!

5th generation Californian, that's amazing! I do think that sometimes when you live somewhere, you take it for granted or get used to just the same old places. I know that happens to me and then when people visit, I get excited about where I live all over again!

Good Morning Jen and Menuers,

I hope this week goes better than my morning did. First the scale was very unpleasant because I was very unpleasant to my body this weekend. It started out with me helping and older gentleman wrangle his dog that got loose and Rudy getting excited and taking me to the ground. Then I didn't do bad with food Saturday, but the mint juleps were to excess. Yesterday I woke up with a bruised right knee and my left Achillis tendon is angry. I can walk but if it hits a certain way I am in a bunch of pain. Then I had to try the Cinnamon Swirl crumble cookie I made and by the time bedtime rolled around I ate the whole 460 calories of it. I have the sugar blahs today on top of knee and ancle pain. I really need to do a lot of self-care this week.

QOTD: My Brother used to have a different ring tone for everyone in his phone. Mine was We're off to see the Wizard, the wonderful wizard of Oz because he knew when I was calling it involved a plan of some sort for 50 or so closest friends. Since the pandemic my Derby party this week was really the first fun thing I have planned in a while.
