Hi, I'm CH, and I have a food hoarding problem. Seriously, I have enough staples and food in my house to feed a family of five for a really long time. Reading these replies, it seems to be a bit of a trend. I do try to go through and donate what can be rather than throwing it away but yeah, lots of guilt about wasting. Ouch.

Same on food hoarding. And same on giving away - donation. It's better than way.

Thank you for the update on your class. Puts everything in perspective and I do not feel crazy now.

Thank you for the summary of the weight management presentation. If I don't obsess about logging my food intake and working out, I do gain the weight back. As I had said before I killed that intuitive instinct in me a long time ago and she is not coming back.

I can tell you why:

So I wonder why (some) dietitians these days keep pushing "intuitive eating", for both losers and maintainers, if these "disordered eating habits" seem to be the only way most people can lose - and maintain- their weight.

I think there are 2 or 3 main reasons (or possibilities) "why?":

  1. The dietitian is an average skinny person, with no metabolic issues and that is the way they maintain. When they gain 1-2 lbs -or their jeans don't fit right, they scale back a little their eating, lose it, then go back to "their normal" everything in moderation plans.
  2. They are like #1 plus the school teach them this is the way to do it.
  3. When the person gets control over their eating - their weight, they wont need them anymore. So the dietitian loses the client - losing income.

Good morning. We spent the night on an Alpaca farm. Roger got to pet and feed about forty Alpacas. I however was in charge of the dogs running free, which they love beyond words, and the one time I stepped in to pet the alpacas I got kicked. Ouch, that left a mark. Lol. It's just above freezing and mostly pouring rain. We are leaving here soon for the Ford Presidential Museum and then spending tonight at an apple farm and winery.

I did very good on my food choices yesterday and prepared all my own meals. Always a win for me and my stomach. But we played about a dozen games of Farckle sitting in the rig listening to the rain storm and wine happened.

QoTD: See above....wine
