What's on Your Saturday Menu?
Thanks. Scary? absolutely...
The more I read about it, the worse it seams.. Because it can be unpredictable.... The person doesn't need to be falling down drank to have blackouts...

Or even drunk. One of the medications I take come with very strong warnings that you could have waking behaviors including cooking, driving, etc. Maybe you have a couple of variables?

Hala, that is just frightening. I can't even imagine. Please, take care of yourself. You know what you have to do, though I know how hard it is to actually put that into practice. If there is anything I can do, let me know.

The driving while under influence -That's a super tough reality. Until I saw myself getting into the car - I had a agreement with myself - if I think I may be under influence - I don't get behind a wheel. That went just out the window ...

That...is terrifying. Losing time is a big deal, and I can only imagine the disorientation that comes with it. I'm sure the interaction of alcohol with any number of meds can only exacerbate it. Glad you've been able to pull back on drinking the last few weeks but is this something you will take to your doctor? There are non-alcohol related reasons that might have factored in, and you have so much going on, it would be good to know. Especially since, as you said, you can't know how much it may happen since you don't remember it.
I'm sorry you're experiencing this.

I don't think I have a doctor that would get it - or can do anything about it, except to tell me "stop drinking". I can do that on my own. I'm doing it. Seeing myself on cameras with no recollection of that time - none, zilch... it's really frustrating.
maybe I got possessed? by a good spirit that started doing chores for me - unloading the car. Because of my back issue - when I have heavy stuff in the car I let other unload it. (i.e. office - manufacturing chairs, big foldable tables, boxes of heavier stuff... some tools I pick up from repairs, etc.).

Hala - so sorry you are having to deal with this. Do what you need to do, you go this!

For the record: seeing myself walking - driving around when I don't remember doing it - was a HUGE red flag for me.
The question remains: what I don't remember doing that I don't remember doing it. A complete blackout.
I always thought that when my body gets affected my alcohol - I just go to bed and sleep it off. I never got "falling out drank" episode as far as I know. Now - I don't know. That's terrifying. Upsetting.
Until I found out I drove my car on the company property _ I never knowingly drove after drinking (unless I had really one drink, ate food and it was a few hrs later. I even had breathalyzer in my car to test myself - just in case. ) .
Finding out that I got behind a wheel of a car after I had a drink was- is very upsetting. Very very upsetting. And the only reason that I decided to go trough the stored videos was because I wanted to find out WHO left my car in front of the other building and why. I had items in my car for the manufacturing building, and that needed to be unloaded in manufacturing. But when I drive my car- until then, I always returned it to the front of the office building for easy to me access and safety. When I get items for manufacturing - I sometimes give keys to one or our employees to drive it there and unload it for me. (often heavy or "challenging" to carry items)
As for the blackout - there were a few episodes that was suspecting something a few times, when I found my responses to some texts that I did not remember typing (late in evening). The responses were logical, and like I would answer them with a full awareness of my mind.
What is VERY scary that I knew I wasn't "falling down drank" and yet I had a total blackout. If that is not a warning - a HUGE red flag - then I don't know what is.
I can control my drinking as long as I don't start - have the first one. When I can abstain from alcohol for 2-3 days, I can stay away. It's just the first drink. Or getting really really upset (shaking up from stress, heart palpitations, etc. ) or severe gut pain (so often the stress would trigger IBS with sever cramps episode - I don't get IBS runs - just severe cramps- spasms- lockdown- IBS-C ).
I haven't have an alcoholic drink for 3 weeks. so I'm in "a safe zone".
I also posted THAT to make others aware that is you start finding things about yourself that you don't remember doing - after you had a drink, or took some meds or other substance - consider that carefully and watch t - pay attention. The slip of a mind may be much more than that.
I know some meds can do that to people. I know THC, Delta 9 THC (from hemp) gives me munchies in a half-awake state (no alcohol). And it doesn't take a lot. I can take a small qty of D8 and just go to sleep. But D9 - I have to be very careful with it. I heard some people sleep walk when they take sleep medication. I know (I was told) I was a sleep walker/talker when I was younger - child and a teenager.
