Popeye convinced us to eat spinach. But I wanted the can ones the way he had, while we had only the fresh ones. I told my grandma I wouldn't eat what she cooked because I wanted to have the canned one. And I didn't know till I came here that his gf's name was Olive! In Italy it was Olivia.

I don't think I've ever had canned spinach - or seen it (not that I've looked for it - I don't do canned vegetables in general). Huh. But that's so funny you wanted that instead of the fresh stuff!

Is the position to advocate for this women volunteer? I would love to inquire in our state about it.

yes - I'm her court-appointed legal guardian, because she has no family (actually, I did some research on this a year or so ago, and she actually DOES have family - two living siblings (a third one died a few years ago). She told me once she had two children, but I've never found any evidence of them (like I did the siblings). I'm not sure what the backstory is here, but at any rate, as far as anyone at the nursing home knows, she has no family. She was brought there (to the nursing home) about 12 years ago by a friend. I volunteer for this county agency for the aging - and that's how I got this position (and yes - it's a volunteer position. It really doesn't take much work or time, and I feel like I'm actually contributing something, which is a good feeling...

You'll never have to worry about being warm! It's always a positive in my mind when the critters love you enough to want to be with you so much. Good luck on travel insurance decisions. I haven't even touched that yet for the Galapagos.

My neighbors have a Kwanzan tree and it has gone from a few blooms to totally pink in just a day. They are my favorite flowering trees.

It's supposed to be 85 today, maybe it will finally dry out the leaves and I can get them mulched and out of here. I planted the 2 strawberries yesterday, and bought a pepper and tomato plant they were on sale, 1gal containers so much larger than my seedlings.

It's finally Friday.

My brain was telling me you had two kittens. That sure looks like three. I've got to keep up better!

No it is 3, I had wanted 2 and had someone say I know someone who might want one. So I opened my mouth and ended up with 3. After they got here there was no way I could get rid of one of them. They are so bonded and I just didn't think it would be fair to take one away. I love them all, and they drive me crazy at times but I don't regret the decision.
