I've avoided looking it up, as I thought it would disappoint.

Likewise, what is "sump?" I know what a sump pump is.

From what I've seen, you have so many talents in the kitchen and with work in your community. You're an amazing giver and the only person I know who makes and keeps cheesecakes on hand just in case something comes up.

Also, bonus points if you end up with a raincoat for Rudy!

"I have no craft talent in any way shape or form. I'll stick to the kitchen where I do my best work." Cooking, and specially baking - the pies, cheesecakes, cookies - THAT is a major talent. I can cook food, by sight like in "i add spices and stuff to my dishes and often don't even taste it It just looks and smells right. Now baking - that's an art. Often even with a detailed recipes - the baking items was off. Very frustrating.

So you making the baked goods - just whipping it up - that's an art. And from your posts - not only you can do that, and you are also enjoy doing it for others. I don't eat sweets at this time, but...I would break my rules for your baked goods (just a little) and Julia's cookies.

Mornin' All!

so now I'm contemplating NOT getting travel insurance for my upcoming trip because so much of it is cancel-able that it won't break the bank if I have to bail (a few hundred bucks, but I can manage that - and of course it's more likely I WON'T have to cancel than I WILL have to cancel. And my credit card will reimburse me the $400 hit I'll take on my plane fare if I cancel, if the reason "fits" into one of their accepted criteria (e.g, if a family member dies)), so I may just be in the hook if I happen to cancel at the last minute and lose a night or two of hotel expenses (because they require advanced notice to cancel). But then there's the medical stuff. My regular health insurance will reimburse me for "medically necessary" care once I get back home, but then you hear the horror stories of people having freak accidents that require hospitalization and/or surgery and have to pay thousands of dollars up front - sometimes higher than the limit on their credit card (most travel insurance policies will cover those types of situations up front). But those situations are pretty rare. UGH. I keep going back and forth. But at least I still have some time to think about this. I've never been this obsessed before about whether or not to get insurance - I think it's all the health issues with MIL lately that's got me thinking about this. DH says if it'll give me peace of mind and the insurance isn't that much (like under $100) - just get the damn thing. But...I keep going back and forth.

nothing on the agenda today, although I need to go over and visit my client at the nursing home, since I'm overdue for a visit (I'm supposed to go at least once a month - but there's been a lot going on with us the last few weeks, so I haven't made it over there lately). She's pretty non-communicative most of the time, so it's rare that I end up spending more than around five or ten minutes there to make sure the room is clean, she looks Ok, etc - so not a huge time commitment. I also need to exercise - will probably get out on my bike since it's such a nice day today.

QOTD: I loved Popeye and this children's show that was a local program in Cleveland called "Barnaby" - Mary will know that one. I also loved the Jetsons, "Lost in Space", "Flintstones"...I'm sure there are others, but those immediately came to mind.

B: protein shake, coffee with half & half

MS/L: the last of the chickpea/miso sandwiches (for now)

AS: oatmeal topped with L&F creme brulee, raw veggies with dip

D: ??

have a great day, everyone!

this is what it's like to get work done around here, regardless if I'm on one of the beds or one of the couches. They follow me EVERYWHERE!
