What you said about cookies is my life motto! Cookies never disappoint you.
You make shrimp ceviche? We need to have a cook off because DH makes the best crab ceviche. I offer myself as the taste tester.

Sorry about your dad, it's never easy and I totally get the feeling when the phone buzzes.

hi all

Saturday was eventful running errands and shopping for store, but I think i ended up spending all weekend working on business and maybe not relaxing. i have this habit of feeling guilty for relaxing.

DH has been working on repainting his truck so that has been interesting. the air compressor died in the middle of the project and we had to buy a new one last weekend. it looks really good now. its a 1990 ford.

QOTD: Spam... green beans, canned asparagus, peanut butter, vienna sausages for DH, tuna, canned beans, all kinds

QOTD 2- janet evonovich but grim won't be a fan.

food today:

expresso (i lucked into a nespresso at the thrift store. not sure why someone would get rid of it but it was only $25!!!)

expresso with fairlife

water

leftover bbq pork from saturday

unsure

Good morning.

I had SI joint injections today and it better work. I'm tired of the pain. Feb and march I was drinking on top of my pain meds and my liver got really pissed off. So...I made an appointment for the steroids shots. Then I get epidura in mid June, to help with the pain as we travel to Poland.

QOTD: too many to mention all. I'm lately into sici-fi fantasy, so I can recommend great books.

One - that even not scifi people like a lot is Hail Marry.. great book, great narration. Another one - "Empire of the Vampire" its about deferent type of Vampires... so not really "love story". I was very reluctant to get this audio on my last credit a year ago... but sop many people recommend it ...I took a chance. I liked the book so much - that I even ordered brand new hardcover copy. I know. I liked the narrator so much (don't tell Keith) that I had to listen to other books he narrated.

For dun easy listening - Clive Cussler - his Dirk Pit series.., or NUMA are rather entertaining. I have them all on audio, MP3 --- so ..pm me your address... please. And there are Baldacci series - the Camel Club is good. And Daniel Silva - the spy books are OK

Curranty I'm in a middle of 5 different series. All of them are rather long so... I listen to 1-2 books, then change. Also training my memory.

Today - not sure. I slept in. My new Pixel 7pro doesn't like to wake me up. I had an alarm on it and it gives one ping then stops. I can't wake up on one ping... I'll need to have something else with alarm. This get s ridiculous. This is a second app that behaves that way. ugh...

I'm on steroids today. when I get injections they often spill into my blood stream and affect me. So ..we will see how that is going to affect me. I may be neurotic, happy-go-lucky, and or just simply pissed off. Depends what version of me resurface, I'll act accordingly. With the last, best for me and my people is to go back home, cuddle with a cat and sleep, or do some organizing. Will see.

Things are right now quiet on Keith sister front, but... that's could be like "an eye of a hurricane". My sister is really nice... and thoughtful. So at least that's good.

Yestrday I had some lettuce with Caesar dressing and some chicken (primal type dressing). This morning my gut is all bloated, and cramping. I guess until I can deal with the SIBO - lettuce is off the menu and apples. I started making Caesar salads at home because we both like them. Caesar is the only salad Keith likes. So... He would have them. If I'm home early enough to serve that to him. I often prep everything and he only plates it, so I probably would do that.

eats today:

Liquids... lots of it...

Late Lunch: either frittata I made yesterday (and portioned), or chicken salad.

Dinner: what ever I didn't eat for lunch.

Snack: cheese, strawberries. (no apples for a while)

adding:

QOTD1- canned meat: corned beef, chicken, pork, beef. And Fish. But solid cans, not the "quick open". Canned vegetables I and Keith can eat. Canned bread and butter (for Keith) coconut oil, canned coconut milk. Freeze dried fruits and veggies. (vacuum sealed). My meds (specially hormones - steroids and levothyroxine, the rest - I would manage without if I have to). Pain meds... (I would buy on a street if I'm desperate).

Multivitamins, activated charcoal, B12, b1, etc.

pasta, beans, corn, rice (for Keith), plus sauces.

Nut butters. Protein - energy bars.

Last but not least - 2 more guns and amo for them.

P.S. Because I'm from Poland and faced food and other stuff shortage and rationing (coupons every citizen got to be able to buy essential things like meat, rice, pasta, etc. - you have to have "coupons" and money to buy that) I tend to hoard things. When Covid hit, and there was shortage of everything , including toilet paper , paper towel, we were stocked since I buy that in Costco - so lager qty. Keith friends asked him how is he managing the shortages. With smile of his face he informed that since I'm polish - we always have more than we need in EVERYTHING, so we are more than good.

P.S. my work hours are crazy, so in the past - I would buy a bunch of things so I would have to worry about that for a month or 2. Our attached garage is a part garage, part storage ... with a tall frost free freezer and a second fridge. There is also a second pantry. Our in house pantry is rather small.

My grandma who went through WWII was the same about food. Even in her 80s and living alone her pantry was stocked to the point she could feed the whole town.

yeap. That was me even when I lived alone. But- when I was by myself. then I really seldom went to stores - maybe once a month. When I ws married, my ex would eat my food, or give it to dogs when he did not go to buy their food. Seriously.

I said ate "my food" because he refused to pay half of groceries of better quality/organic food. He told me that If I wan that food I had o pay for it myself. They my food would disappear. That was the last year of marriage before. After separation, I would keep "better food" at work and I would have lunch and dinner at work. He stayed in my house after separation for 6 months. I had enough of his crap and I kicked him out after that for good.

It sounds like you have found a much better match with Keith.
