What's on your (PHOTO) Friday Menu?
hi all
no photo for me today.
I'm working a full day then i would really like to go get these organizers for my beauty product inventory. I had bought out a lady's inventory and got through listing it but the little-ish closet i was keeping it in has overflowed within the last 6 months so i need to do a better job on it. And this is the GOOD stuff like jo malone and aveda so i need to have containers for my little pretties before they go to their new home.
QOTD: prefer pool because i can see the bottom. otherwise paddleboarding in a lake
food today:
coffee coffee
then my cran-grape/water/crystal light combo
I think i'm done with all the veggie meatballs- i tried two brands the fatter ones were better but still not great.
dinner- going to either lobby for sesame chicken in fridge (the new perdue brand they came out with) or if I leave i could get something good?
Morning.
QOTD: ocean when snorkeling, pool - Glenwood Co Springs. Just be in tha****er and do nothing.
Accountability yesterday I had a late lunch, then late dinner. I went to Costco after work, and it was hard not buying a wine. Wine isles spread over a very large sea in my Costco. In areas that I shop. Ugh. But I resisted, got groceries and "things" for some people, but by the time I was leaving - I was "starving".
I allowed myself semi sweet crackers when I couldn't each much this week, and it backfire for me on 2 fronts: I got severe RH and I had to get more sugars in me then proteins. And 2. - awaken sugar cravings and lowered my pouch sensitivities to full signals. Last night I was hungry. I ate chicken in Korean sauce (relatively large for me serving), sauted spinach, then I had 2 bowls of strawberries.
And 1 hr later - 2 ozof cheese. Only then I was "not hungry". I don't remember when I could eat that much in 2 hours. P.S. buying and having fresh bread from Costco in my cart snd in my car - hat probably also influenced my hunger - cravings. I absolutely love Costco rosemary- parmesan bread. O well. Now I know that besides Costco muffins- I need to wrap the bread so I d9nt smell it in the car.
Eats:
Liquids...lots of them.
Lunch: probably late, if any...
D: I have many different meats a home so I'll decide what I can have.
S: Cheese, apples strawberries.

Congrats on resisting Costco wine. It sounds like you have food roulette pretty often. Reactions can be so unpredictable.

Mornin' All!
I'm going to go the pool in a few and have a few odds and ends to deal with today - then a party tonight. I'm going to try really hard to manage my eating at this thing since it's pretty easy for one big splurge to sabotage an entire week of responsible dieting behavior. It looks like several people are bringing "safe" things like shrimp ****tail, veggies & hummus, and deviled eggs, so it shouldn't be too hard as long as I don't go hog wild...
my MIL was supposed to be transferred to rehab earlier this week, but she's developed pneumonia, so she's still in the hospital. It's been two weeks now - and that's after an earlier stint of 11 days (she went home for 4 or 5 days, then she went back in). DH read over her MyChart again last night. They're having a hard time dealing with her because she has general anxiety disorder, COPD, congestive heart failure, and an aortic aneurysm which they can't operate on because her health is too poor. And now, pneumonia. On top of that, she's thin as a rail (her normal weight is about 115 lbs, and she's 5'7" - and she's under 100 lbs now). Unfortunately, the typical med for one of these things often can't be done due to risk of negative effects on another (e.g., they can't do steroids for her lung issues because of her other conditions), so they're not really sure how to proceed. The pulmonologist's notes from last night were not encouraging. I don't know if we're at risk of losing her soon, or if this could go on for another year or two, with her in and out of hospitals all the time, but this is bad. I'm a little worried about going to Scandinavia this summer, but I'm getting travel insurance in case I need to cancel, and DH will be staying home, so we'll probably be OK - but still. Bad situation.
QOTD: I used to swim in lakes and oceans in addition to pools, but now I stick to pools. I don't like not seeing the bottom and the risk of stepping on slimy things or kritters.
B: skyr with cranberry/cherry compote, coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake
L: kale salad, protein muffin
AS: oatmeal topped with L&F creme brulee yogurt
D: hopefully that snack will carry me over until I get to the party (should since it starts at 6:30). I'll going to try very hard to be careful!!!
This picture popped up in "Facebook Memories" yesterday. I'd forgotten about this. This was four or five years ago when I went to North Carolina to visit my brother. He and some of his musician buddies get together at a bar on Wednesday nights for a music "jam" (they do bluegrass, folk, and "old time" (a precursor to bluegrass which sounds pretty similar unless you know the difference)). One of their friends plays the slide trombone, and he wanted to join them. So here they are playing "Foggy Mountain Breakdown", with one of them playing along on his trombone. You had to be there to believe it...

So sorry about your MIL. It's just a hard situation no doubt. Travel insurance sounds like the way to go

I'm sorry to hear about MIL. That's a hard place to be and she has so much going on. I hope they're able to get a treatment plan together.
Do you have a specific brand of shoes you wear when you go to the pool classes?

I bought this pair a few months ago (except in blue). So far, so good! I can't remember the brand of my previous pair (although I got them at Dick's Sporting Goods) - but those were good, too - they lasted for several years.
