What's on your Thursday Menu?
Good morning. Norfolk is delightful. The drive over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge was alternatively stunning and terrifying. The bridge parts great, hurtling through the tunnels in the rig, white knuckling. The view was amazing and I saw dolphins playing. We are at the state beach park and the boys are going for a run on the beach in just a few more minutes. We had a wonderful time with our dear old friends. Ok, I hated what she made for dinner. It was chicken and mushrooms but had a terrible taste. I ate some. Then she brought out brownies. They were amazing and for the first time in over three years I ate a whole one. Ooops.
Today we are walking on the Chesapeake Bay shoreline, then going over to downtown to see the Chrysler Museum that specializes in glass art and having dinner at one of the local, fish forward places. Sounds like a great day.
QoTD. I read everything that wasn't nailed down but my early memory isn't great. I remember Are you there God, but then my brain jumps to Clan of the cave Bear and Flowers in the Attic. I'm positive that I read much more endearing children's books along the way.
Foods today.
B last of the fresh from the chicken eggs and a slice of bacon
L. Deli ham and a piece of cheese
D. TBD!
Peace Everybody!

Flowers in the attic reader here. I read so many of them and can't believe how many series they still churn out 30 or 40 years after her death. I remember reading that someone was doing a bio of her, but I've never been able to find it. I will say thinking about those books and My Sweet Audrina as an adult, I am astonished at how messed up those stories are. I wonder what is the equivalent for preteen/teen readers today?

My BFF was visiting her brother over Passover and she stayed in her teenage niece's room. She took a pic of her bookshelf and it was filled with VC Andrews! Still popular with the tweens I guess!
I used to read them all at Christian camp every summer lol. So messed up.

I don't know if I find that hysterical or horrifying. Maybe a bit of both. I understand a bit more now why so many bookstores out VC under horror, lol

I've never read a single VC Andrew's. Now I'm wondering what I missed.
