What's on your Thursday Menu?

Good mornin everyone! QJB, glad you're going to the doctor. I'm so sorry you've got to deal with this!
I'm in pain pump purgatory. They won't up it because of the urinating issue but they are not willing to do a damn thing. The binder thing is annoying as heck but again they are not willing to do a damn thing. I feel so insignificant, they call me their special patient. They have zero empathy. My pain level is really high, all I can take is Tylenol. I am not letting it get me down today
a fellow student of my niece Rachel threatened to shoot her. All over a stupid text that went to a group. The girl didn't want to be included in it and Rachel still sent another one. Rachel has had her cell phone for 18 days mind you. She is still learning the etiquette of it. She also has the preteen attitude issue of which I am not a fan lol. My SIL isn't fair with her kids and shows favoritism. Riley can literally do no wrong and still talks like a baby because my SIL talks to her like a baby. It's doing Riley no favors...not at all. She doesn't have any friends and is made fun of a lot because she acts like a baby. It just makes me so mad. At Rachel's b-day party Riley was a sour puss. Asking why she didn't get this or that and acting so not nice. All my SIL did was play with her hair and placate her instead of telling her to act respectfully. Ugh. Like I said they are doing her no favors. When's she's out in the big world she'll have to learn the hard way that you don't always get the things you want just because you want them.
No big plans for the day that I know of. I need to reapply at the clinic that my GP is at...I could do it today but I think I'll likely wait until next week.
QOTD: I don't have the best memory but the one I remember most is "The Outsiders". Not so much the movie but I loved the book and still keep a copy around,
Food is terrible unknown. I've been up since a little before midnight...gonna be a long day!

Family stuff can be really difficult to navigate. Kudo to you you can handle it as well as you do.
As for the pain pump... yea, the same stuff that helps us with the pain, can also affect the nerves of the bladder, and BM. When I have to take more that my usual dose (because of additional pain) my body can take time to empty the bladder. Running water, plus patience, breathing - seams help. I tend to bring a tablet with me, or my phone or my phone, so I can get distracted and just "relax". often that works... Unless sitting that long is causing my legs to go numb. ugh...
If the pump is helping you with the pain - are you willing to consider catheter?

I hope that kind of threat isn't brushed off. People are crazy these days and I've seen plenty of news stories about kids killing other kids.
Also hoping the Tylenol at least takes the edge off. It's a lot of time spent waiting to be prioritized by medical teams.

Good morning and happy Jr. Friday! I hope you can get in to see your doc soon, QJB.
I also saw Are you there God, It's Me, Margaret and it was delightful. I drove home in a white out, mixed with rain, so it took a long time to get home but then it must have stopped, only about an inch and a half of snow, so not too bad.
QOTD - I had to google chapter books. I have always read all the books and pretty much went from Little Golden Books to The Bobbsey Twins, Trixie Belden, Pollyanna, and Five Little Peppers and then to "anything you want in the library" so I don't remember that phase, I guess. Clearly Pollyanna was foundational for me, though:-)
Off to the office in a few minutes, so I'll do a boxing workout this afternoon, maybe some stretching too. I am starting to make a dent in my backlog of audiobooks and podcasts with a regular commute again.
menu today
coffee plus half and half X 2

Have a terrific Thursday everyone!!

She was the proto-Nancy Drew...which I also read, along with the Hardy Boys. That whole publishing model from the early to mid 1900s is probably what gave James Patterson his current idea, lol...although to be fair, I don't know if Trixie or Nancy was first; Nancy just feels more modern in my memory.

Funny--Trixie feels more modern in my memory but I looked them up and al though Nancy did come a little earlier, they are pretty much the same era.
I don't know about Nancy or Trixie, but at some point in the past I looked up the Hardy Boys. The author, Franklin Dixon, was actually an AI. Well, not quite, but he wasn't a person. Someone wrote outlines others filled them in, others rewrote them to update for a new generation of readers. Other authors wrote new books as time went on. The original outliner/author's daughter took over when he got old. Altogether it was quite a collaboration/assembly line.
