It was one of the classics my dad insisted I read. I couldn't, I couldn't keep all the characters straight. Never read it, until 3-4 years ago I got the audible one and listened to it on my walk; the only way I wouldn't fall asleep to it. It was one of those check the box things because I didn't care about the story. But I had promised my dad I would read it and I did.

My bucket list has the six volumes of Gibbon's Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire. Reading something written in the 1780s is slow going though.

Matilda was the first book I had to read for a competition at school. They didn't believe I read it in a day and quizzed me about it. Joke's on them, I guess!
