What's on your Thursday Menu?
BTW: a shot of whisky or bourbon, straight, worked as well as Levisin. But...that caused other issues... including addiction like behavior... and daily drinking...

I don't think chapter books existed in the 1950's. My first memory of being in love with a book was Little House on the Prairie. I read all of the Laura Ingalls Wilder books and still will read one once in a while on Kindle. I rarely got books, except for Christmas, and all of my reading was from the library. I remember being six years old and taking the bus to the YWCA for swimming, then walking down the street to the library and getting books for the week. It was a different time and everyone felt safe.
Kids left the house in the morning, went to friend's houses, the pool, the parks, the playgrounds. Nobody worried about where you were or what you were doing. We showed up for dinner, then played outside until long after dark in the summer. Lots of times we would fall asleep on the livingroom floor watching TV and my father would carry us up to bed.
QJB you do need to see a doctor and could just go to urgent care for relief. They will want you to take NSAIDs. I have compromised and used Voltaren when my hand developed a big painful lump close to my thumb. The best non-NSAID that I have found is Biofreeze. It works like ice but quicker and much more convenient. I know you have a heated mattress pad and that helps me with pain in my legs, back, and feet even in summer with the air conditioner on the heated bed feels good.

Thanks for the advice. I have some biofreeze but hadn't thought to use it on my hands. So far I've found that Arnica takes away some swelling and the heated mittens help relieve some pain. It's just hard to find the time to rest them since I'm always either typing or decorating.

We sale the pro Biofreeze here at work but the one you have may be pro. The professional is clear the general public one is green. I think it is just the lidocaine strength that separates the 2.

Please be aware that in larger doses, or a chronic doses menthol could be toxic to cats. Small qty are ok, but the cats may be attracted to menthol (like to catnip), so it is a good idea to wear gloves if you use that overnight and you couldn't control if cat would start licking your hands.

We practically lived at the library when we were little. Free books! Back when they had the card system, too.
I also loved the Laura Ingalls Wilder books. Little House in the Big Woods was a glimpse into another time.

Good morning ~ How fun you got to see the movie! I'm looking forward to it as well, but I doubt that will be with Rob. Nice one, Grim! It's official, I can't wait to go back to work, sounds crazy but I with the limitations the time off isn't as zen as I'd hoped. I have my post op appointment today and have a list of questions ready to go. I will get to move on to puree/soft food and can't wait for cottage cheese and poached eggs. I don't know what my restriction will be yet, but to think about taking 2 bites and done? Haha, maybe but that would be nice. I have some work to do, bills to pay and a grocery run to make.
QOTD -First favorite - Stuart Little I read that book over and over. I can still picture the cover and the little illustrations at each chapter.
Accountability - great
