For years, my godfather had a Chicago record store. I used to love visiting him there and he knew so much about Chicago music (and took me to my first "real" concert (Kenny Loggins with Rick Dee opening). I would totally visit your museum!

Chicago blues is probably my favorite genre of music. I like Delta blues, too - but Chicago style is fantastic!

Good Morning Queen JB and Meneuers.

Pittsburgh does not have Pittsburgh related holidays and the Marathon here is run on Sunday. This year it is on May 7. I will not be running it this year. (I never did) I wanted to get on a relay team and run it, but I never looked too far into it. Now my knee gets angry when I run so I been sticking to just walking the dog.

Got to make an appeal to my insurance, they do not want to give me much at all to repair my roof. I got to make that call as soon as I am done here. Tonight, I am getting my hair done. I also had to get a vet appointment for Rudy AKA Moochie. He is hacking stuff up. I am not too concerned about it because he seems fine after, but I want to see if there is something I need to be doing to stop it.

QOTD: There are so many types of Museums out there I don't have a clue. I just wish I had the time to see all the ones I want to.

Accountability: I had a piece of a chocolate covered apple I got for easter.

My museum would be amazing things from very ancient people. I am convinced that among the cavemen there was someone with the brain of an Einstein. And I would fund all sorts of expeditions to find evidence of ancient technology which I believe is out there somewhere waiting to be found.

not quite as ancient, but I loved the exhibit of early Scottish peoples (at the national museum) when I was there last summer - lots of info about the Picts, Britons, etc. I loved reading about them when I took a British history course years ago, too.

when I get to Scotland, I want to visit that museum. We have one in Ohio that is at an Indian mound and has many exhibits of the Native Americans who built the mound 800 B.C.-A.D.100 in Chillicothe.

If you get a chance to go up to Orkney and visit Skaraa Brae, it is well with the trip!

Mornin' All!

It's snowing here, too, a couple hours north of Jim (2 h 10 m to be exact - provided there aren't traffic issues). It doesn't look like it stuck anywhere besides the grass, though - thankfully. Weird that it was 80F/26.5C just two days ago. Spring..

saw five films at the festival this weekend. It's going on through the 20th, but I'm done. Years ago I used to buy 10-ish tickets, and they always have so many good films I'm always tempted to do it again, but that's way too many. It's exhausting. Five is good. Last night I saw "The Beasts", which was like the Spanish version of "Deliverance", sans the banjos. Very creepy. I actually liked all the films I saw, but one was about an hour too long ("Leila's Brothers" (Iran) - good film, but again, too long). I also booked all my hotels in Copenhagen and Sweden this weekend. I'm glad I did because some I looked at a week or two ago were already sold out - for July! Copenhagen, especially, is super expensive (Sweden wasn't bad - but my cousin said the economy there isn't the greatest, so the exchange rate is favorable to us. That was a pleasant surprise!) - but Copenhagen - yikes. I'm staying in one of those micro-hotels there that are common in Europe and Japan that are not much bigger than a walk-in closet. But that's fine - I'm right in the city center, and the sun doesn't set until 10:00 pm. in July. Plus there are some nice common areas in the hotel. So I"ll just be in my room for sleeping and showering. Trying to decide now what to do about trains - reserve in advance, or just wing it. I read that booking well in advance (esp for summer) is advisable for the high-speed trains and for long distances, but probably not necessary for the regional trains - most of those run anywhere from every 20 minutes to two hours (depending on where they're going), so you can usually buy tickets at the station the day of. I"m checking with a couple of people who live there, though, to see what they think (although I could always book them in advance just to be on the safe side). Not much going on today other than going out to dinner because it's our anniversary (otherwise we'd stay in - I don't want to go out in the cold and snow - esp in April!)

QOTD: hmmm....well i could have spent days at the Pompidou in Paris watching short artsy films and video clips, but I don't think there's a huge audience for that kind of thing. So maybe some kind of astronomy museum??

B: plain skyr topped with mixed fruit, Wasa crackers, coffee with half & half

L: meal replacement shake

AS: hopefully nothing - but if I'm hungry, a L&F creme brulee yogurt with a teaspoon of tahini mixed in

D: the plan is to go to a Middle Eastern restaurant, so maybe chicken skewers?

have a great day, everyone!
