What's on your (PHOTO) Friday Menu?
Tx Roadhouse buns are so good, esp with the sweetened butter.
Cute picture of you, kids, and your dog.

Their buns and cinnamon butter are excellent. Or so I remember.

I work for TurboTax and mine are on extension so I can do them during the summer. I just do not want the pressure right now. My favorite story of people waiting until the last minute. I always worked until midnight Pacific time on the last day of taxes.
That is 3:00 AM for me. One year a lady from California called me at midnight my time. She had not yet started her taxes and wanted to be sure that she really had three hours to do them since it was only 9:00 PM there. I assured her that she had three full hours.
Everyone worries about being late, but if you have a refund coming the IRS doesn't care if you ever file. They get to keep that money until you do. If you are three years late then you forfeit it forever. But if you owe money there is no deadline and you still owe it with penalties compounding until you do file no matter how many years late you are.

I finished in record time, literally! I could tell since Turbo Tax had a little race car at the top and told me it was my fastest finish! LOL. I am not usually a procrastinator like this but there is something about not being on a typical schedule that is making me do things slower this year.

QJB-Adorable cookies. Did you know Nurses Week Celebration is May 7-14, 2023? You need to market those cookies to some of the local hospitals. I bet they would buy some in bulk for their nurses!! I hate doing my taxes. I am always on pins and needles anticipating that I need to pay a huge amount to the tax man. Luckily, this year I did get a refund. Yay! Again, I am envious of the warmer weather some of you are experiencing. So far, I think our high has been high 50's.
Yesterday, I didn't make it to my weight workout since I needed to finish prepping for a meeting next week but did make yoga. My kids have a concert they are performing tonight so will skip yoga in favor of getting my weight workout in. Plus, I would be a sweaty mess after yoga, don't want to do that to the other spectators. Why do I feel guilty if I don't do my yoga almost every day? That is a pathology, I think. Otherwise, in the office today doing the usual. This weekend I am getting new tires, will do my usual morning yoga sessions, Costco run, meal prep, and depending on the weather maybe a little yard work. We still have leaves from last fall everywhere since the weather changes so fast this fall and it seems every weekend is rain rain rain (or cold). Minday evening me and DD will be going to another $5 mystery movie. It is funny, every time she asks about the genre. Uh, I Dunno it's a mystery. Duh!
Has anyone noticed how expensive the hotels are in the summer? Geez, I have been looking into summer travel and the hotel prices are insane. Sad face.
QOTD: I like the Simply Lite no sugar added dark chocolate bars. That is my nightly snack. 6 squares.
My picture is of my mini Goldendoodle. He recently got a haircut.
Accountability: another good day, excellent. DH brought home some beef jerky that is only 10 calories per serving (a small circle about the size of a 50-cent piece-it is thin) that is really tasty. I did have one of those.
B: triple zero greek yogurt with berries, keto granola, cold brew with half and half
L: asian chicken salad with light sesame ginger dressing, 3 pc fresh pineapple
D: Berry chicken salad with light poppy seed dressing
S: protein frosty, 6 pc sf chocolate
E: weights chest, shoulders, triceps.

Aww, pupper! And yep, hospitality seems to have suffered from inflation, too, as people are practically competing to get out. My family said the RV rental rates have also doubled. Phew.

Love the cookies.
The meme: I allow myself desserts if I really want some after dinner. That way my BS wont spike too much and there is a very small chance I get RH. Often after a meal - I'm either not interested in dessert or too full to risk it. A few times when I forgot to wait 20 min after the meal, and decided to "get that dessert anyway" - I paid for it. The "punishment" is often good for 2-6 months than I forget... and get dessert almost after the dinner. Really bad idea.
QOTD: I used to love TJ when I traveled and I was excited when they open one in our town. But over and over I get really disappointed with that store. Selection is meh, prices are high.. and service is bad. But they do have cheap, good wines.
Aldi - we have a few in our area and I shop there for "specialty items". Their cheese, packed salami slices, milk chocolate (for Keith), some bubbly water, plus some fruits - veggies. They have egg white wraps that I use all the time. They are little "gummy" so I can slice them thinly and use instead of pasta in my dishes.
Yesterday my pain got to me. I got ready to go to work, but sitting in a car was painful. I took a pill, waited a little, then decided to call my chiropractor to see if he could help me. He adjusted me, I used his roller bed and I still was hurting. So instead of going to work, I went to Costco to "walk it off", and to run errands: get gas, prescription and some stuff for the week. By the time it was 4:30 - my hips and my feet, my lower back was in agony. Finished shopping, got home and Keith helped unpacking the car. He is a really good guy.
As I was driving (and hurting) I started analyzing what the heck is happening with me... and I realized "I wore a support-less slip on shoes.... no arch support, no balance support, and a little slippery. ugh Yes people - good shoes are really important if you plan to be on your feet for a few hours and walk around for 2-3 hours.. A good lesson. P.S. theye are supper light and I was planning to just get to work and sit at my desk most of the day. Lesson learned.
Today is raining so that also contributes to my pains. Polish proverb "Stara a glupia" ("old but stupid") is equivalent to southern "bless your heart" or "you should've know better".
This morning my chiropractor called me to see if I wanted 10 am massage spot - someone cancelled. So instead of going to work early, I just had a massage and arrived promptly at noon. I'll have to work late today to catch up even a little. ugh.
Accountability: no cheating. I ate less than I expected /planned. But I failed drinking enough liquids.
Today: (IF)
liquids...
L: chicken in curry sauce, sautéed spinach.
D: chicken with some veggies
S: cheese, apple...(or strawberries)

Tell Julia about good shoes. Hers are crap. I could make a sturdier and more supportive shoe from a shopping bag.
