What's on your (PHOTO) Friday Menu?

Happy Fridaaaaaayyyy! Hope everyone has a nice weekend planned. I have been a proTAXinator, and yeah.... they are due Monday and I haven't started, so I guess I am doing that today :/
It's summer in Boston all of a sudden! As usual we skipped the Spring season completely and went from the 40s to the 80s in just a few days. Today we expect record highs in the upper 80s--it's 72 right now at 5am. Wild. If I finish my taxes, I will reward myself by setting up my patio furniture and reading outside this afternoon.
A few cookies from this week:
QOTD: Your wish is my command. What are your favorite WLS friendly items from Aldi or Trader Joe's? I'm not much of an Aldi shopper but I love love love Trader Joe's and they have so many great and unique WLS friendly items. Yesterday I stocked up on a bunch of things, but I don't get there often enough anymore, so I got a lot and I'll freeze some of it! Sous Vide Chicken Thighs, Sous Vide Turkey Tips, Sous Vide Sliced Beef, Crumbled Blue Cheese, Turkey Meatballs, Protein Plates (salami, cheese & almonds), Prosciutto Wrapped Cheese Sticks, Cauliflower Thins, Eggwich Sandwiches.......... So much more!
Excited to eat some of it today!

Good morning and happy Friday! I have been up since about 11:45 last night and I'm not feeling my usual productive self when I wake up so early (or late, depending on how you look at it). I started a new book and I watched Top Chef but have really just been killing time. I am wishing I had some toast but I don't and none of the grocery stores are open so that's probably a good thing, lol. I will probably go ahead and start work at 4 and get done early. I am taking my bike to get a spring tune up this afternoon, it's just a few blocks away so I'll go even in the rain.
We had a couple of glorious summer days with temps approaching 80 but it's raining all day today and expecting a bit of snow overnight, not a lot though, only up to 3 inches. No complaints here about that though, my youngest step sister was put on evacuation notice for a fire earlier this wee****il the FS/FD got it under control. Bring on the moisture. It will stop by afternoon, they say, which is good because some friends and I have tickets to see Samantha Bee on Saturday night downtown. Other than that, nothing much planned for the weekend.
QOTD - I go to Trader joes a lot but I don't really buy all the much besides cheese and sparkling water. The unexpected cheddar is always good, I like their samosas too. I do get their GF ginger muffins and the olive bites when they are in season. It's a good place to go if I need to get some barebells bars but I have two boxes in the fridge now that I am working through - pumpkin spice and raspberry cream. So really just whatever interesting cheese they have and a few seasonal items plus samosas. I really, really love their hold the cone items but have stopped buying them because I can't not eat them all and then I'm sick for hours. Know your weaknesses!
Menu today will be
coffee plus FLP X 2 (already done)
omlette
deli turkey with cheddar
not sure about dinner
my photo friday is the gorgeous sherbet colored sky on my drive to the office yesterday.

Is "hold the cone" some sort of ice cream?

I have a low tolerance for ice cream. Those look small, so I might be able to eat two of those. Maybe. But I'd feel like crap for hours if I ate more.
It's a blessing, in a way, to not be able to eat much of something so calorie dense. It's a good reminder that almost 11 years later the surgery is still working.

I don?t have any issues with ice cream?except these and that is 100% a self control issue. Ice cream usually ends up freezer burned and disposed of rather than eaten - pre and post op both. Except for these.
Actually, now that I think about it, I probably should check for some yasso bars that have probably completely crystallized in the freezer and get rid of them, lol.

I never kept ice cream at home. I'd usually have it a couple of times a year, and almost always out somewhere. Chips and chocolate were my biggest poisons.

Ice cream and chocolate I can have in the house! Chocolate is also something that I periodically have to throw out -- Sheila might stab me but when I spring cleaned the fridge, I realized I had chocolate I had brought back from Italy and I finally got rid of it (I was in Italy in 2018..it had even moved with me, lol).
Oreos, I cannot. Chocolate chip cookies, I cannot. Gingersnaps, nilla wafers, anything made by an elf...nope nope nope.

You and I need to live together. I'll take care of all the icecream and chocolate so you won't waste them. I love The yasso icecreams, especially the salted caramel one.

You and I should probably not live together because we would be fighting for the same food--except for ice cream. I will take the FroYo and Gelato off your hands, though :)
