What's on your Thursday Menu?

Happy Little Friday! It's "Saturday" for me :) I finished all of my papers and school work yesterday and finished my baking, too. Today I get to spend the day decorating cookies for fun, not for orders, and I think I will also take a trip to Trader Joe's this morning :) Ahh, it's nice to have a day off!
QOTD: How do you feel about trigger warnings? I read an interesting article about Cornell students voting that professors need to add TWs to readings that include traumatic content about sexual assault, self-harm, or transphobic violence. The professors said absolutely not. I think I side with the professors here. I think a sensitivity to mental health is good, and it's nice to have a TW on a social media post, I guess. But I think that in education it starts to create situations where we encourage people choose to ignore things that offend instead of learning to deal with different ideas and points of view, so I do not think it should be in that setting
Accountability: Still not back on track. I ate a broken naked cookie when it broke as it came out of the oven. Had some grapes and strawberries as a snack. And I was exhausted by the time I was ready for dinner I was too tired to deal, so I ended up with fat free refried beans and cheese. Let's try again..............
B: Protein Coffee
S: Babybel Cheese
L: Veggie Burger with cheese
D: TBD--something new from Trader Joe's!
Good morning gang. I love that pizza cutter.
I decided to mix things up today, and prime rib is for lunch instead of breakfast. It's a rough life.
QOTD: I don't think colleges should have trigger warnings. If you don't know you're going to learn upsetting things, you shouldn't go. I'm sorry, but there is bad stuff everywhere. I understand folks wanting to avoid things. I've done it. But the next step is banning books and films, and that is going way too far down the wrong road. If folks insist on banning something with all the worst parts of human behavior, start with the bible.

Good morning QJB and menuers,
Happy Thursday!
QOTD- With the utmost sensitivity, just about everything will trigger someone. It's a hard thing to manage because we're all individuals with different needs. We also have warnings on coffee cups that the contents may be hot.
I am not traveling to DC today as my boss shut me down yesterday. Probably for the best but I hate not delivering against expectations at work. I did fill out leave paperwork and will get done what I can in the next couple of days. Thank you, PCP.
Accountability- I ate mac and cheese yesterday. But I also bought a couple green bananas, some blueberries, and an avocado.
Menu - at least half a banana (I really don't like banana but can get down at least part of a really green one, only), some blueberries and a piece of avocado. More soup. Probably protein shakes.
Happy Thursday, everyone.

Hi!
TL/DR - have had escalating GI symptoms since March, and sustained neuropathy starting last Thursday. They're being treated separately but it's a big enough set of issues that I can't focus and work. Or sit still. Or sleep. :) I've asked for medical leave to try and get everything under control. Faking it only works in short bursts right now, so best to take the time away.
Just seemed like the best course of action. In the decades I've been with this company, it'll be the second leave I've ever requested. The first was for my WLS. In the beginning days the mantra was always...you come in unless you're dead, and then you still need to make it a half day. :) We've come a long way since then but still a hard thing to do.

Hey Queen and everyone
Happy Thursday, worked from home today and it rained, good choice lol
QOTD: I'm torn and don't have an answer. Part of life is managing triggering subjects but I get how hard some subjects are for people. In the college / uni context though, not sure what a warning would do, you still need to be across the material. Sorry for the fence sitting lol
Good: b: egg, ham, cheese and a yogurt l: ham lunchable thing, lamb and a cheese thing, also had a veggie mix drink, protein water, protein shake and 3 litres of plain water. Been on fire haha
Have a wonderful Thursday!

QOTD - I look at trigger warnings as a notification of what you're going to encounter, not an excuse to not encounter it, particularly if it's required reading. The key word is required, you don't get to opt out. Nothing wrong with warning someone about the content so they can mentally prepare. If it's not for required readings, then I do think they should be there so people can opt out.
Not sure of the plan today, I'm headed into the office and I have a ton of stuff to get done after work so it will be a lot of running around. I will probably have a rest day until I feel like working out when I get home tonight.
menu

Have a terrific Thursday!
