I guess you can develop gastritis (irritation of the lining of the stomach which could develop into ulcers) from bile reflux. I hope they can pinpoint the issue. Did they put you on Carafate for your stomach to help protect the lining? Sometimes they will put you on both an acid reducer and the Carafate. If the blood tests are negative you should push for the CT scan.

For the GI issues I've been prescribed HYOSCYAMINE and ursodiol this week. I've been on omeprazole since the surgery, as it was prescribed for a year.

I'm supposed to finish the 10 day course of the hyoscyamine and then call them with how I feel. The surgeon's next suggestion if the drugs don't work is revision surgery. I'll ask again about the CT scan. A frustrating point with the clinic is that it's all through nurses taking my feedback to the surgeon and then coming back to me. Not sure what might get lost in translation there, too.

Good morning peoples. It's supposed to be another beautiful day here. And since I started it off with prime rib for breakfast, how could it not?

QOTD: I had cereal for breakfast every day of my life through my mid teens, and not a day since. It should be no surprise that I liked the more sugary cereals. I wouldn't have touched shredded wheat with a ten foot pole. I disliked Cheerios.

I really didn't care for the milk left in the bowl when the cereal was gone. Yuck. I could drink milk by the gallon, but that warm stuff in the bottom of the bowl was icky.

Do you warm up the morning prime rib or is it cold? I have been known to eat a leftover piece of filet in the morning like a lollipop, straight out of the fridge but tend to warm up things later in the day.

I warm it up. I think I warm up most things . . . I warm up pizza, and JB thinks it's bizarre. Meat is always cold in a sandwich though.

I don't like cold sandwiches so I always put them in the microwave. pizza for breakfast has to be cold but if I have left over pizza for lunch or dinner it must be warm.

We develop weird food rituals, don't we? I think mine are likely more rigid than most, but still.

Prime rib for the win. I was tempted to buy a prime rib roast yesterday at the grocery store. As a single person living alone, I decided an 8 lb roast was unnecessary.

Where have you had your favorite prime rib? I'm partial to Lawry's, even though it's not the best quality I've had. It has sentimental value since it was a special occasion, dress up place of yesteryear.

Texas Roadhouse. I do not know what they do but it is wonderful. Probably soaked in sugar water or something. LOL

Texas Roadhouse has very good beef. But every piece of ribeye is unique. It can be a little tougher or more tender, better marbling, etc. It's not always a result of who cooks it.
