G'morning all!
Quick post and run, busy crazy day ahead.
Had a great weekend, very productive. But the highlight of the weekend was on Sun. I had told DH I might not feel up to going to the green belt festivities, plainly due to jealousy of seeing so many kids around while my flock is grown and flown. So Sunday morning I'm in bed drinking coffee and reading the internet when he walks in with an Easter basket and tells me he has set up an egg hunt for me. At first I grumbled that the last thing I need is more chocolate temptation but he forced me out of bed and got me started. I went to the usual places where we used to hide the eggs for the kids, and lo and behold I pick up one pillow and I see a phone with both kids on FaceTime waiting for me. Guys, when I say I lost it I'm not exaggerating. Seeing both my kids on FaceTime was the biggest and best Easter surprise. The first five minutes I was just bawling and couldn't talk. It was so precious to me hearing them and seeing them. Don't get me wrong, it's not that I don't hear from them, but it's mostly by text and in the last 6 months or so they have both told me they don't like FaceTime. I was on cloud 9 after our talk so we ended up going to the Easter party and saw a lot of our neighbors.
QOTD: I grew up in Pisa, a small college town. Loved the feeling of safety no matter time of day or night. It was close enough to bigger cities so we could enjoy the amenities of big cities without ever feeling the downside effect of the big cities. I loved growing up there.
My meals yesterday:
- Coffee & Barebells bar
- Skirt steak strips
- Protein pudding, iced coffee w/PP
- Grilled salmon w/roasted Brussels sprouts
- E: Rest day
Happy start of the week!

hi all
saturday we ran errands like grocery shopping, friday i was able to get us some roasted wings at our favorite place. yesterday we did dinner at my sisters. i had a few bites of a few things then decided to have some of that tick tok peanut butter pudding pie? sheesh that did me in.
QOTD: I liked being in a suburb where everything was only a few miles away. when getting a fancy coffee wasn't starbucks but QT the gas station's cappuchino which we called crappachino. splurging meant making a huge plate of rice krispy treats from scratch and riding around in the conversion van we had (in the back without seatbelts) or in the way way back of the station wagon facing the 'wrong' way.
food today:
leftovers: 2 (1/2's) of deviled eggs, some corned beef i made yesterday, and some green bean casserole.
coffee coffee
water
unsure on the rest.
