When I visited Tasmania, I spent a few days in port Arthur and it really drove home the difference in approach.

Gun control is one of things I'm most proud of Australia with. It's probably the thing other than one of your former presidents we gasp at the most with the US, just doesn't make sense!

I don't think it makes sense to a majority of Americans, either. Unfortunately, minority seems to rule around here...

Good morning QJB and menuers,

About to head out the door for my 9 month WLS follow up. I'm armed with paperwork and questions. Then office today. I'm still moving painfully slow but I'm determined to keep moving!

Amy - Thinking of you today and wishing you a quick surgery, and an even quicker recovery. Can't wait to hear from you.

QOTD- I didn't appreciate much about it as a kid. We were so rural there weren't many other kids around. The trees, fields, and forest were big for me. I'm so glad not to have been in a city. Or even a town. Retrospective, though!

Accountability- I tried more solid foods yesterday and managed a cup of diced mango in juice, a cup of yogurt, and some other things that got me to 1200 calories or so.

Exercise- Just moving.

Menu- More mangoes, ratio yogurt, protein shake, and I'll see what the cafeteria at work has.

Cheers, everyone!

Good luck with the appointment. Keep us posted.

If you don't get good ideas in your surgeon office - it may be time to talk to a hernia surgeon- someone who actually understands and operates on people post op Sadi, and get another opinion. Seriously.

Also - if you already taking vitamins as pills - specially large multi vitamins- od any large pills - start cutting them in small pieces are switch back to chewable. On of my issues with internal hernia was large multivitamins that would get stuck when my small intestine had narrowing. (Twists). I had RNY so my pills would take time to disolve - and it often start traveling through intestine before they got broken down. It was painful.

Also - if the food doesn't travel that well down you'd digestive tract - I personally would avoid anything with sugar alcohol. Some or the chewable vitamins have SA - often sorbitol added, and that can cause more issues- like gas trapped inside the intestine. It can be very painful.

Hugs and best luck.
