By the age of 17 I was working 2 part time jobs and going to high school full time. I was also sneaking into bars and drinking with my brothers. Crazy how times have changed.

Oh, I should have mentioned the 17 year old is on the spectrum. So it's really more like two 13 year olds :)

You and my son about this tomato thing. I never thought tomato would be a food item people don't like. Somebody I know didn't eat olives until full adulthood because thought olives are evil.

Good morning everyone. I am up way too early. I saw QJB's comment about coffee being so good and I decided to get up and make some.

I had a very successful day with my WLS dr yesterday. Iron infusion is ordered and also abdominal CT scan. I have been dealing with random left side pain for a while. It's not my colon and not gyno. I am glad that she listened to me and is taking my concerns seriously. I was also 5 lbs less than I was in August. She wants me to keep my calories between 1000-1200 and 60-80 protein. I am feeling motivated and determined to lose 30 lbs.

My son was home for 6 days. He brought Coast Guard friends with him. They ran a 50K trail run. It was so much fun cheering them on with my cowbell at all the stations. I almost cried when he crossed the finish line. Those races are full of emotions. I had some great talks with my son. He really encourages me to push myself and step out of my comfort zone. I feel like the past few years I have been feeling a bit lost. I need to find myself again. How do I do that? Being an empty nester has been hard.

QOTD- I also have never tweeted and I don't twerk. I don't do much on social media. I have a fb, but don't really post. I don't Tik Tok, snapchat or instagram either.

Food plan for today-

2 boiled eggs

cold brew with protein shake ( I forgot how good this was)

shredded chicken with pico

baked cod, asparagus

My menu may change. I am going to weigh, measure and log everything. I am getting back to basics.

Walk tonight with my hubby and the dog.

I take Unjury vitamins. Multi, vit D3, B complex and calicum citrate

Good job on the check up and the loss! I have never had an empty nest but I imagine one of the hardest things is to find out what you're interested in now that you don't have all the kid stuff? Is meetup an option for you? They have so many groups and activities, I've used it when I've moved to new places just to get started meeting people. I know you like being outdoors, maybe there's a woman's walking or hiking group?

Congrats on your progress! That's great. Glad your meeting went well, and that your doctor is responsive to your concerns! You've got this!
