What's up for your Saturday, April 1st
I only remember two jobs in my life that I did not love. The first was a waitress job the summer after high school. I think that lasted two or three days. It was not a good fit for me an they paid me and told me not to come back. |
The second was about six years ago. I was hired by Walmart to do office type work but required to spend a week in training that included three days working on the floor. The first day I worked as a cashier one customer came with her groceries and a wheeled suitcase to carry them home in. When she opened up the suitcase, the smell of old rotting food nearly knocked me out. Another lady had about $50 worth of groceries. When I finished with her order, she dumped a big bag of change on the counter and said, "Start counting".
Another lady came and started yelling that she had paid for her groceries and I put them in someone else's cart. I really don't believe I did, but the manager gave her the money back. I noticed she did not buy more groceries, just left with the money.
That was my first and last day at Walmart. I called and quit over the phone.
The rest of my life, I have had jobs that I looked forward to doing. I read once that if you find a job that you love, you will never have to work a day in your life. I believe work should be challenging but still fun.
Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
So, I lived through my first tornado warning. Up in the middle of the night with sirens and light beacon warnings and anxiously watching the news. Missed us by a dozen or two miles. Whew.
Also learned this from the news; a tornado watch is like having all the ingredients for a taco. A tornado warning is the tacos have been made and waiting to be eaten. If it hits, you're eating the tacos. The whole situation is not funny, but this analogy cracked me up.
Today is Grands day and then all hell really will break loose. We've battened down our hatches, laid in food they like and organized the rig again in preparation. Going to be fun and hectic.
QoTD: I would love to be any sort of artist, but I have zero creative bones.
Menu is a lot of I don't know until dinner. My brother is having what he considers the best pork and chicken bbq in his area delivered. I can make that work.
Peace Everybody.

Glad the tornado didn't get you. Warnings can be quite the reality check. I'm so glad phone's scream at you as a warning, now.
Enjoy time with the kids!

Tornado warnings are no fun...except for that time we were at school and weren't old enough to be scared. I still wonder how our teachers managed to hold it together (house across the street from the school wa**** but all it did to the school was take the bell off). Growing up they told us "watch is you're looking to to see who it hit" and "warning is it's probably going to hit you"...taco analogy is better! Enjoy the time with the grands!

We used to have a lot of tornado warnings here but it's shifted more to the east of the US. Last time we did I was out taking pics of the wall cloud...yes I was stupid!

This is a few years ago from outside my garage. You can't tell from the distance that it'****ting one of those outdoor malls and doing a lot of damage. I still contend I was being safe, the garage was the only place without windows and I was planning on going back in there if the direction changed!
