Good Morning! Friday-Eve! Yay for an electric sheeter, how much better for your hands! I didn't have to stay long for jury duty, after the antiquated roll call and filling out a form and passing it in I was released. It was projected to be a three week case that starts Monday and I have prepaid concert tickets on the 13th.
QOTD: Definitely not! I'm that person that says things like "you know that guy from that movie that ....." . John is a perfect partner for me and most times can figure what movie/who I'm talking about.

We have nicknames for some actors. There is one woman who has been in a bazillion Christmas and other movies, playing the same role, more or less. When she appears we say "Look! It's everybody's mother!"

Good morning, everybody!
QJB, I'm glad that you got the sheeter, hopefully it helps protect your hands.
My sons have fall 2023 class registration next week. For my younger son, the process is pretty much as I remember it from college. Fill out a form, submit it and get your schedule back.
But my older son's process is incredibly stressful for both student and parents. Because its a small school, they have fewer class sessions. Classes from one department (say Computer Science) often overlap periods with classes from the Electrical Engineering department. And certain classes are offered only in spring or only in fall. And everything seems to have pre-requisites. And they change the requirements of the majors and minors periodically but adhere to the standard of what it was when entered the College. So you have to revert to the Freshman year flow chart. Also, they change the names and numbers of classes periodically without updating the old flowcharts.
The latest trauma is that he is showing up in his college's system as still a junior. The reason for this is that he didn't get the 6 credits that he took last summer onto his transcript. (It was his responsibility to do so) Which means that he doesn't get to register on the first day of registration. Which gives other students priority for getting into both summer and fall classes. With all of the prerequisites and spring or fall scheduling, he has a pretty tight window of which classes he can get into if he is going to graduate next May. Being two days behind others in registering is not a good thing.
Even if he is able to get into his summer and fall classes, it doesn't look like he will be able to complete his minor unless they add a class session in the summer, because for some reason, all of the classes he wants to take in the summer are only offered second summer mini-semester. Including the ones that are on-line. Why is that?
Add that to the normal young male tendency to handle everything at the last minute and the school's tough love philosophy- we are engineers, we can figure it out, and it seems to be a disaster every semester.
I really would like him to graduate next May. I feel like I need to keep working and stay in our current location until he graduates. Having two in college and no income would be too stressful for me. But if he can graduate in May 2024, then our firm's fiscal year end 2024 would be a good time for me to consider early retirement offers. And get out of this cold weather.
QOTD: I do recognize actors from one TV show appearing in another show from time to time. I am no expert though.
Breakfast: Chia pudding
Lunch: Salad with turkey breast
Dinner: I think that we are going out, so maybe lamb
Have a great day, all!
