What's on your Thursday Menu?
It's about time you got the electric sheeter. Great move.
As for the donut- I just saw a recipe for mini donuts - butter fried cheerios, sprinkled with cinnamon sugar. Yeap. It's a thing.
Qotd: I deal with a partial face blindness. The most popular actors I can recognize - the rest - nope. I may think I know a face... but the name - nope.
I often have to meet someone in person many times before I can really remember their face and their name. It's really horrible as a business person, when I go to conferences and people approach me and talk to me as if we were friends and I have no clue who they are. Horrible.
Today would be another interesting day. Busy.
I'm still finalizing the choice for our group of 4 for new phones and service. 3 of us are easy, the 4th... ugh... I had to ask her 4 times in a row (by text) what color of the phone she wanted. 4 times. She needed to "think about it". And this was just a color.
I have to remind myself she is not a technical person, nor a business person.
Ugh. I don't often deal with her in that manner, so I need to be patient.
I spent 4 hrs yesterday texting with her back and forth about memory storage. She has 128GB now, and was convinced she needed the 516GB because she has a lot of photos. But she was upset at the price I told her she would have to pay for that size. Ugh.
Ugh. Finally I was able to tell her (in details) how to check what % of her current space she used. 20%. Of 128. So she is getting 128GB. It would be more than enough.
O well..enough *****ing. Now I waiting for her to tell me if she wants to pay for phone insurance or not. I put all details about it in an email to her.
The other 3 of us - we know the insurance is useless, so we self-insure phones. Always.
I'm going to buy phone cases for the 3 of us, but not for her. Last time we got new phones it took her 5 days to decide what type she wanted and what color. I made a mistake of telling her I'm getting that for me and her husband (he is my business partner).
I won't even mention that to her. Nope nope. wow, I'm a ***** Lol. Thank you for letting me vent.
Anyway- today I'm going to order phones and sign the new contract. That would take me 2 hrs. At least. Ugh.
Besides that business meetings, work and some food.

Oh wow, are you me? I have the same partial faceblindness. I didn't know it was a thing until a doctor's appointment a couple of years ago when I told her I can't recognize people until I've seen them enough. It's truly this that drives any form of social anxiety I might have because like you, I absolutely can't remember people unless they have some outstanding, unique feature. And if you change your hair, I'm prone to having to re-learn unless I've seen you a while.
At the Dallas conference I was meeting a lot of people for the first time off Zoom and I kept looking up their LinkedIn profiles so I wouldn't look like an idiot when we met. Did also have a ton of people who approached me and talked about that time we met...and I don't remember.
Given how stressful it is, I fess up to it now because it really is a problem I can't just fix...but I can cope! Crappy place to be but kind of glad I'm not the only one! Did used to think it was a weird social failing on my part.

That is interesting about the facial blindness. I read a book recently about a couple (fiction) where the husband had full facial blindness. It was a mystery book. I had never heard about that before reading the book.

Even obviously having it, I didn't know it was a condition for decades! I really did just think I was defective because no one else seemed to have those kinds of problems. People get really offended when you don't remember them, so I got to the point where I didn't put myself in those situations unless I had to. I'm most comfortable in situations where I know I'll never see people again because of it. Wild, right?
It really does make an impact on day to day things. I do remember seeing a Hannibal episode once where I think a woman was supposed to be faceblind and she only saw a blur. I can see features...they just don't stick. And it's not for lack of trying.

I have someone who asks for help every single day because he needs to go eat lunch. I finally lost it a bit and suggested he keep food at this desk to tide him over so he is not leaving a customer or asking someone to take over. I don't understand that kind of irresponsibility. He has a wife at home who waits on him hand and foot and fusses over him and I think he expect that from me. Grow up.

Yea... people like that wouldn't last around me... he lady, she is married to my business partner so she get a lot of points for that. Sometimes when I get irritated at her not being able to make decision, I have to remind myself of the good she does for me... Keeping him in check...

G'morning all!
QJB - I don't know what a sheeter is (I'll google it afterwards) but congrats on getting it.
Jen - I hope you like the doatnut, let me know what you think.
Bright and sunshine-y day today and I am so grateful. Yesterday was talking to a friend who goes up to Tahoe every weekend with her kids, they are huge ski/snowboard family, and she said they think we'll have snow till June. I can't wait to go up there but I'm not a ski-while-it's-storming kinda gal. I like sunshine and snow, I don't like it hard. The family I talked about goes up there no matter what, they are hard core. I'm a very leisurely skier, don't have to prove anything to anybody, unless I ski with my brother; then all bets are off and we are back being under 10 and trying to kill each other on the slopes by seeing who skis faster/batter.
QOTD: I'm like Kelly; "who is the guy in that movie that is what that other woman". And then there is one amongst us just like Jen, a walking IMDB, who knows exactly about whom I'm talking about. It actually amazes me every time when she guesses correctly; how much brain real estate there is for all this stuff? Just last night we were watching a show and for half the show DH kept asking me, the one who never knows who is who, where we had seen so and so. Finally I got frustrated and said Google it! He expects ME to be his walking IMDB. Hah!
My meals yesterday (it was a snack-all-day kind of day):
- Coffee
- Hb eggs & protein puff
- Protein pudding, Fage yogurt
- Epic chicken, quest chips, Parmesan square
- E: 1 hr elliptical (no way I could go out unless I planned on swimming the streets)
Happy jr Fri-yay!
