Good morning ~ I love Gus-gus he's my favorite . I drove by several container stores last week, in fact one is only an 1.5 hours away from my house and sounds doable. Enjoy your trip. I had a lovely weekend, very fun and relaxing and slept so well! I've always been one to just get up and outta bed in the morning but with our new topper, I don't want to, like ever. It's so comfortable and helping to ease my hip and back pain just as I hoped. Today starts my pre-op diet - I'm so ready, bring it! I have a very busy work week the week should fly.
QOTD - The weather is my most viewed app lately. Normally it's email, Libby or audible, apple music and apple news. I do go on IG or FB to pass the time occasionally.
Accountability - I ate all the things
Liver Shrinking Diet
b- coffee w/fairlife protein shake
l- Fairlife protein shake
d- chicken and small salad

Good morning, everybody!
Day 24. Between Corned Beef, the Greek restaurant on Thursday, and a big plate of Blackened Chicken I had food for about a week. But I finally ran out and had to make something. Given our continued cold weather, I found a nice beef stew recipe on the Whole 30 website. We had about a pound and a half of stew beef in the freezer but the recipe called for 2 1/2 pounds. I told Marilyn that I would do the food shopping for the week and start it on Sunday morning.
When I got home, she had surprised me by starting the slow cooker and putting in all of the ingredients that we had. Which was awesome until I saw that she had taken the other pound and a half of beef and was braising it.... In white flour.
"umm, is that flour,"
"yes, the recipe says to use it"
"Are you sure about that?"
"Yes, I will show you"
To nobody's surprise, the Whole 30 recipe did not actually call for a white carbohydrate braising. Now, if I asked Melissa Urban what to do, she would say: either don't eat the stew or start over at Day 1. But Melissa is divorced, and I would like to remain married. Throwing out 3 plus pounds of meat and all of Marilyn's efforts wouldn't have ended well. We tried to scrape off as much flower as we could and went on our way.
I don't want to start over because I do want to step on the scale next Monday and see how this worked for me. (And Wednesday night Happy Hour April 5th) So, I just remind myself that I'm trying to manage my weight, not start a religion and some of these little accidents are going to happen along the way. My sugar was good this morning, so I'm guessing the amount that I ingested was small.
The weekend was as expected: cold weather, Crossfit, basketball watching and sweater washing.
QOTD: Wodify, Crossfit.com, Catalyst Athletics, Whole 30.
Breakfast: RX Bar

Have a great day, all!
