Good morning! How's it going, gang? I had a weird day yesterday. I think it was spring allergies, but I felt very tired and out of it all day. I even took a nap but still felt sluggish and slow. Hopefully I have a little more energy today. Gotta finish up a few papers and bake bake bake today.

QOTD: What is one thing you commit to doing to meeting one of your goals today? I decided I need to be on more of a "schedule" so I am committing to a hard stop every day at 3pm to do something active.

Accountability: Good start but I struggled with my carb detox and ended the day badly.

B: Protein coffee & egg bites

S: Greek Yogurt

L: Veggie burger on mini naan

D: Chicken

Hello Your Majesty and all

Sorry about your weird day, hate those but I'm sure today will be better!

QOTD: trying to look at the positive of any negative thought, working very hard on that mainly as it makes me a nicer person to deal with! I have been so short with people lately who don't deserve it so my goal is to take a breath and be positive!

Food: protein coffee, half a protein bar, cheese and chicken slices, deconstructed hamburger (very deconstructed lol)

Have a great day!!

I think that is a great goal. Positivity is a mindset more than a product of the environment you are in. There will always be situations (and people) that disappoint you, but actively seeking the positive in every situation is so worth it for your mental health.

This is a great goal -- there will always be things that are hard and I think it's too easy to focus on what sucks..because it's annoying and frustrating that things suck -- but focusing on the positive aspects of what you can control and doing those things is a good way forward. My best example of this is my bad/weird sleep - life long problem sleeper and I would always lay in bed and be mad that I was awake and couldn't sleep and it wasn't fair and blah, blah, blah...one day I needed to get something done, decided to get up and do it and then gradually trained myself to just get up when I wake up and get the day started. Not being angry at the beginning of the day has changed my whole life....and being angry about not sleeping wasn't actually doing anything other than getting my day off to a bad start!

I agree with the look at the positive. It seems that DS spirals into the negative. Lately, he focuses on all his body aches and pains (jeez he is only 18) that I think are related to weightlifting and rapidly increasing strength. When you offer him advise and possible solutions her prefers to poo-poo it and says it won't work. Not an easy task to help a 18-year-old who is a know it all. Remember when your parents were so dumb, and you knew better? I also don't get mad when I wake up early. I actually like to get up early and get things done when everyone is sleeping. You have such a great attitude. I love it!

Positivity can be hard at times, and it's good to keep working toward the version of you that you want to be. Decades ago I was an angry person with many issues but I worked with the public. I spent so much time smiling and having on my customer service face, and it felt so fake. Except that, over time, it really did start to make a difference in my outlook. My therapist does have a slightly positive opinion on "fake it till you make it". Go figure.

You can do this! :)

I can be a total ***** My employees once told me "we like you better when you are On the antianxiety/depression drugs".

Reluctantly I talked to my doctor and got Cymbalta. (Lexapro stopped working for the intended purpose). Than also should help with nerve pains. For now - I take it so my people don't quit or I don't feel like firing most of them (when only 20% really deserve that lol)

Good morning QJB and menuers,

I'm camping on the couch since I started the fancy medication last night and it feels like I've been hit by a truck. Lots of crazy dreams last night, too. One of the fun things with sleep meds is that the side effects can be just as bad, if not worse, than not sleeping. I'm supposed to take it for a month to see if things improve so going to try and stick it out. I had to give my drivers license to the tech to pick this one up and got surprised face from the pharmacist when he came to do the consult. Good times.

QOTD- Edited - More tea. More water. Keep nudging the guy about the Galapagos trip since the itinerary I want is booked. I really would like to get this on the books and a new continent is one of my goals!

Menu - Thai-inspired chicken, pot pie stew, brisket, blueberries, black grapes. Too much food in the fridge.

Cheers.
