What's on your menu for Sunday?

Mmm. Yard work. I'm being reminder just how unconditioned I am as I sit on a stump watching my burn pile after being out here for six hours. Looks a lot better, though!

Good morning Mel and weekend menuers!
Those brass rings don't look easy to work with. I don't know how you can manipulate those without leaving marks. Love your unique pieces.
QOTD- I have to say thank you for sending me down a music rabbit hole. It's a driving force in my life that I haven't been able to engage with much in the past couple of years outside of during work commutes. Lots of top 40 stuff these days. Anyway, I'd say a mix of The Cave by Mumford and Sons, The Sound of Silence by Disturbed, and the Country Roads cover by IZ, at the moment. My personal anthems are subject to change by day.
Yesterday I placed an order for some teas from Harney and Sons. I have things to try before I die. I'm also thiiis close to committing to a trip to the Galapagos in December, and I'm so excited for the possibility. Gives me time to save a bit while paying for the big chunk.
It's also burn day. I called the county fire folks and texted my neighbors. I've been to town and back today for shopping and returns. Have also remembered what coffee plus ginseng does to me...I'm practically bouncing off the walls. This is the kind of energy I used to have and miss. Too bad coffee is not a sustainable solution. Anyway, I have laundry on and dishes ready to go. I'll finish this coffee, knock back the last of thr clam chowder and get to it. I'm grateful for my steel-toed yard boots.
There's still some cooking to be done. I did end up getting up yesterday and getting on a slow cooker version of the chicken pot pie recipe posted on OH the other day. Also did some stuff with corned beef. Think I'm going to make an altered soda bread recipe today, plus the egg roll in a bowl I've been putting off and now need to use ingredients for. I've got mountains of food here and need to do better about protein forward. I'll portion out some blueberries and fruit/vegetables a bit today, too.
Accountability- Feels like I ate everything yesterday. Extra protein bar. Extra cheese. Extra chicken. Sigh.
Exercise - Burn pile calisthenics and cardio! What more can you ask for?
Menu - Cold brew with ginseng (got several on clearance so will probably use strategically over coming weekends), last of the clam chowder, scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, corned beef and vegetables, Thai chicken. If extra is needed, pot pie soup and/or coconut ratio yogurt. So long as I'm eating protein-forward, I'm trying not to sweat these weird, ravenous periods.
Cheers, everyone!

Good morning ~ We had a lovely day yesterday. Walked the dogs, clothes shopping, hit a bucket of balls, more corned beef, a fire and another Irish movie - perfect. Today it's raining, again and will be for days... so it'll be house stuff, the kiddo coming over for dinner and a grocery run.
QOTD - Not sure - it would be a milion songs really and nothing is standing out right now.
Accountability - great
b- coffee, protein bar
l - corned beef and swiss roll ups
d- cheese burger no bun
s- protein chips, yogurt
Have a great day!!

Good Morning to Sunday and Menu Friends!
Melody- I am sorry you are suffering. I am praying that the adjustment in your pain pump helps. Did the lyrics help in the past for you?
I am happy to report that my weight did come back down from last week. Back to baseline at 132.2. I really would prefer 130 but overall very stable between 131-133. Yesterday just did a 90 min hot yoga workout. A few errands. Old Navy had a sale on linen pants for $14 so I bought 2 pairs in anticipation of warmer weather. They are actually a blend of linen and rayon. I watched a movie on streaming called Vengeance. It was written, acted, and directed by BJ Novak from the Office. It was really good. More of a drama not really action or comedy but not particularly a heavy drama. Very watchable. I highly recommend it. Ended going to bed last night early (9:30) as I was really tired. Maybe a combination of extra carbs (I allowed myself a free day and had potato and ice cream cone) and some early mornings. I find that I am sensitive to starchy and simple carbs. I bonk energy wise.
Today, I have an inferno pilates class, facial, and some meal prep. DD wants to go to Traders Joe to get her friend a mozzarella log that she loves. We will see on that one.
QOTD: DD says her friend tell her that Boss ***** by Doja Cat is my theme song since I do what I want (example DH wasn't interested in going to Mexico because more Americans die there then any other travel destination but I was like nope, I am gonna go). So I will take it!
My meals are my typical.

G'afternoon!
I had to take my mom to urgent care this morning because she said her legs were tingly and her blood pressure was too high. She tends to be kind of a hypochondriac, so I'm never sure. Anyway, went over there and she had a log of her blood pressure readings this morning - she's been taking it every hour. I've seen those logs before when I've been over there. Today wasn't that unusual in that dept - maybe more often than other days, but I'm getting the sense it's not unusual for her to take her blood pressure several times a day. Systolic was high but not crazy high, diastolic was consistently below 90. It's been that way before when she's been at a medical appt and they never say much about it, and I was sure they wouldn't this time, either, but I took her to urgent care anyway. It's no use arguing with her. So...of course she's fine. She did tell the nurse - and then afterward, the doctor - that she had an abnormal EKG two weeks ago at the hospital. I told the nurse she might want to check the notes from the hospital, because I was there with her at the hospital and I heard them say she had a NORMAL EKG. The nurse looked on the computer but didn't say anything. Later Mom told the doctor about her "abnormal" EKG, and I started to say that she (doctor) should check the hospital notes, but she waved her hand in a way that I knew the nurse had filled her in already. Normal EKG. So Mom was pronounced fine and sent home. Sigh. Until the next time...
I've had fun messaging a newly-found 3rd cousin over the weekend. I'd messaged him a couple of weeks ago because I noticed an error in a family tree he'd created online, so I just wanted to give him the correct info. He finally saw the message and messaged me back. And then I wrote him back. And so on. And so on. He seems like a fun guy - my age, his wife went to school here in Madison, and we have several common interests. They live outside of Minneapolis, so maybe one of these days we can meet for real. And a related topic. About three years ago, a woman from Sweden emailed me to let me know her grandmother and my grandfather were cousins. We had some back and forth emails for a couple of days, and that was that. Well I started thinking about her again this weekend since we might be going to Sweden in July. I thought maybe we could meet up if she still lives in the same area as my ancestors did - or at least not too far from there. But I hadn't gotten around to emailing her yet. BUT...when I got home from urgent care, I noticed a message from some Swedish person in my email inbox. Turned out it was this woman's mother - out of the blue, three years later, and on the same weekend that I was planning to email her daughter - how bizarre! The mother is working on their family tree and wondered if we could work together. Well, of course! But I also told her I might be coming there this summer. Unfortunately, I checked facebook and discovered she now lives up in Lapland, so that's pretty far from the places I was thinking we'd go - so maybe not. Although I did ask her where the daughter lives - maybe I could visit her, depending on where she is. Anyway, what a weird coincidence!
QOTD: probably "Go Your Own Way" (Fleetwood Mac)
B: protein bar (on the way to urgent care), coffee with half & half
L: crepe with plain yogurt and strawberry compote
AS: I just had a couple of Wasa crackers - but I need to have some protein - maybe a Ratio yogurt
D: I'll probably make spaghetti if DH is back from visiting his mother. Otherwise, whatever I can find. Maybe a salad
have a great day, everyone!
