What's on your Saturday menu folks?

Yay for a new baby and a new generation! How fun!
So glad you can be productive this early in the day! I am unable to do much as my mom is asleep and our house is creaky and the light would bother her. I'd love to be chainmailling right about now.

QJB,
Seniors and technology crack me up. Congratulations on the new addition coming to your family.

You will have all your Saturday stuff done before the rest of thew world wakes up! Congratulations on the new baby niece! It's funny when it's old people/people not used to technology who can't work zoom...but I don't understand when it's my colleagues...we've been using zoom/zoom like tech FOREVER.

Good morning Mel and weekend menuers!
Okay, love that photo. Just about perfectly sums up the day sometimes! Glad you have a low key day!
QOTD- Loved playing in the woods when I was wee. Building forts, catching frogs, hunting salamanders and mushrooms. Then lots of board games.
Doctor yesterday got all my paperwork and we went over the sleep stuff and brain fog/fatigue. Since I've changed so much stuff since it all started in 2021, she has no more ideas for me other than recommending I talk to my psychiatrist now. Well, she prescribed Quiviviq to try for sleep issues. Will depend on the cost as to trying it. She has literally just learned about it this week. Seems it's on backorder, so we'll see!
When I gave her my InBody scan she hadn't seen one before. Thought it was a neat tool, though. She also seemed surprised I'd lost more weight since January. She politely said it looks like I'm about done. They measured me at 5'8" with my shoes on, so I gained the half inch back if I want to claim it. Feels like cheating, though was kinda hoping maybe I got taller with spinal decompression or something.
Today there are a couple little stores I want to stop by in my search for specific brands. There's a tiny health food store I want to check out if I haven't lost motivation to be out by the time they open at 9. I'm leaving the house no later than 5:30, so very likely I'll be home by then. Have a package of well filters to pick up at the post office. I'll replace them today, then do some work on centralizing as much yard waste as I can to burn. The weather looks less windy tomorrow, so thinking that will work better. I'd called the fire departments in my area to double check rules out here since all my previous burning has been in a ring. My property is too big to drag everything there. I'll aim for a burn in the pasture this weekend and one in the lower yard in a couple of weeks, depending on how much rain there is. Still not touching the upper 5, though it does need work.
Yep, hopefully a busy day today.
Accountability- Nothing not allowed, though it feels like too many menu changes again lately!
Exercise- We'll count yard work today. There's going to be a good amount of heavy hauling with the wood. It's more than just branches.
Menu - smoked salmon with laughing cow cheese, maybe on a wasa cracker, possibly with scrambled eggs and spinach, otherwise with sliced boiled eggs and tomato. Ratio coconut yogurt, a pure protein bar, cajun tilapia with carrots, a flavored tuna packet, seaweed
Have a great Saturday, everyone!

Good luck with the new med! Hoping it works for you!
I take remeron for two reasons...insomnia and depression and also take trazadone for sleep. Sadly it only helps for a few hours then bam I'm up. I'm hoping to get off of the trazadone soon. It knocks me on my butt like I'm drunk or something. I'm afraid I'll end up falling and it doesn't help much in the end.

With you on the trazadone. The benefits definitely don't outweigh the fact that I can barely function until noon. Being a morning person, that's kinda detrimental! I've been on amitriptyline, too, previously. She had me try that to see if it improved the migraines. So far this stuff helps me fall back asleep sometimes but it doesn't keep me from waking up all night.
Cost is a factor with any of these meds. First thing I ask is if there's a generic or if they know the cost. Won't be surprised at the counter with a $350 script again!

Thanks! Oh boy! This is the scary part, to me. Mostly since I've been on this roller coaster so many times and this is the part where I'd keep on working and eventually see the scale begin its inevitable climb. Not this time!
I'm going to keep on this way until my 9 month follow up in a few weeks. I've been including some carbs already since January and would like their feedback on what they think. Doesn't mean I'll follow it 100% since I'm for sure learning about how individualized all of this truly is...but they are nutritionists for a reason. :)

I personally would add more easy fat like an avocado or olives.

Good fats are high on my list! I'd dialed them back a bit after having my gallbladder removed last month, and I'm working out the balance of what I can tolerate again. It's a bit of a process of experimentation.
