Is your brother back in your home town or just nearby? I know on the east coast, nearby can still be several states away!

He's just 45 minutes away, still in the same state. He's near the coast and gets a pass to the town's private beach, so I'm sure JB will be anxious to go in the summer!

although their perception of what's "near" and "far" can be different from that of people who live in other parts of the country. DH grew up in NYC and New Jersey. Once when we were out there visiting his mother, we decided to go up to Boston for a long weekend. His friends all remarked that that was "far away". Huh? That's like the same distance between here and Minneapolis. So....not that far! I imagine people who live in the west (other than the west coast) have an even more expansive view of what's considered "near"!

This was an interesting comparison between me and my Dutch ex-partner. For him, 15 minutes away from the house was really, really far. He had noooo sense of distance for anything here. During one road trip to Maine (from the south) he wanted to "swing by" Detroit like it was just up the road, though. Ha.

hahaha yeah we have had a few Euro visitors wanting to do a day drive to see Melbourne or Brisbane from Sydney. One hell of a day driving 8-9 hours there and 8-9 hours back but sure haha
When we lived in Montana a trip to Seattle was near, which is about 600 miles from my hometown. The distance between the big cities in Montana was typically a 3 hour drive.

Good morning ~ Enjoy your evening, sounds like a lot of fun!! Yesterday's rain wasn't too bad, but I did hydroplane several times on the way home from work, not fun. Thankful the freeway wasn't full of crazies. Today is a lot more rain so maybe a dog walk, a grocery run, house stuff and YOU! I'm psyched.
