Happy Saturday! What's your plan for the day?

I still sometimes ignore the full cue and always regret it. It never happens at home. I just don't prepare more than I should. It only happens while eating out, when they give me way more than I can eat.

It might always be something to work on. It is for me.

Good morning Jen and weekend menuers!

That's a short night. I see myself as a morning person but continue to be envious of your apparent ability to spring out of bed ready to tackle the day after two hours. That's superhuman. Sounds like you have a great, engaging day ahead of you today! With an interesting menu.

I do represent this meme at times, so it's nice to have the reminder. Have never seen the trickster goddess reference though, and am now going to steal it shamelessly.

QOTD- I like this question. My warning label for strangers might be "Contains plant tendencies and is prone to seeking natural light" since I'm always trying to get outside. For friends, maybe "If missing, can be found in the least likely location". People seem to be aware that I gravitate toward the unusual and paths less traveled. In a cruise town in Alaska I wandered out of town following a small sign to a cemetery, and then to a waterfall. That's where everyone found me and triumphantly declared they knew this is where I would be.

Last night I did shopping and grocery pickup. I should have checked the outs, though, because I still need a battery for my scale now. Will head back this morning at some point, maybe.

Today is heading to the slightly bigger town for dog food, nail trims, and car maintenance. My Prius is reaching 170,000 miles. I will maintain and drive this car until the wheels fall off and it will go no more.

I'm also prepping for cooking. This weekend I'm going to make a batch of low carb clam chowder with extra clams, a Thai-inspired dish with chicken and bok choy, a turkey-based eggroll in a bowl recipe, and some sort of bake with egg whites and veggies.

Did find a gym I used to go to that offers an InBody scan. It's not as comprehensive as DEXA but better than a bathroom scale. I was wrong on distance. The nearest DEXA scan to me is three hours away, so that's not happening any time soon. I'll see about making it happen during one of my work trips to civilization. Anyway, I plan to do that on Wednesday if I can make it in.

Accountability- A dip of peanut butter with whole seed crackers.

Exercise - Going to attempt some better stretching today and another pilates for dummies video. If anyone has suggestions for easy routines, would love to see them. Elliptical today, plus yard pickup depending on the weather. We've had a lot more rain, so I'll see what else might be an easy extraction out there.

Menu - Ratio yogurt, red beans and proteins, sausage and protein pasta, my slice of toast with mascarpone and jam in honor of Sheila, two boiled eggs.

Happy weekend, everyone!

I think those InBody scales they have at (some) gyms are fairly accurate, too. Maybe not as much as a DEXAscan, but still, fairly accurate. It should give you a really good idea..

At least a baseline! After extensive Googling, the InBody is what my nutritionist circa 2016-2018 used. I remember the layout and grab handles. It gave a pretty good readout and my weird metrics were always extra-cellular water, which we tracked over the course of a year. Never really figured out what was causing it but the only variable left was giving up tea. I cut back drastically (at least a pot a day!) but that's really hard to give up.

My insurance covered 6 nutritionist visits per year up to BMI 30 and 12 if you were above that. Of course, no coverage if you're under that. I wish they'd take into account a whole person and the issues that people grapple with.

Did make me realize I'd never heard of a DEXA scan until you mentioned it here a while ago. I love all the things we learn and share here. Feels like it's something new every day. Thank you.

Do you have Netflix? I have tried a few of the Nike programs they are offering and they seem to run the gamut from beginner to advanced, depending on which ones you choose. My trainer does virtual sessions too, she's awesome

I do have Netflix! It's funny you mention that since those Nike sessions popped up today. I bookmarked the bodyweight ones and a couple of others including core to see what they have. I should totally look into a virtual personal trainer! I wonder of that's big around here when the nearest drive anywhere is a half hour.

Thanks for the response!

Is it a challenge for you to cook recipes for one? Alls I can think about is all the leftovers.

Yep, and more on some things than others. It's a pain to use half a package of ground meat or half an onion.

I heavily modify and halve a lot of recipes. When you yank most carbs out, they do get smaller, thankfully. I end up with more than I can eat in some cases and do a lot of freezing. I also get a lot of help from the dogs when there are dog- appropriate foods.

Wish I didn't crave variety since I make a few recipes per week. Fortunately that covers most main meals. It works more times than not.

In short though, yep. It's often a challenge! :)

Happy Saturday everyone. No interesting plans today. JB is getting ready for her class tomorrow. The moving van with my brother's stuff arrived yesterday, so I may go down and see if I can help while she's gone.

QOTD: I guess it would be "if you aren't sure if he's joking, he's joking." But the sarcasm label fits me too.
