Everyone raves about Shake Shack but I think it's terrible. So greasy! Blech.

I'd still rather Shake Shack than In-and-Out. But Shake Shack isn't great either.

I've had several people on the Buc-ees train try to get me to go to that place. I'm currently avoiding it and hearing your feedback makes me feel better about the decision. I do hear good things about their clean bathrooms and available gas pumps but the place seems more like a cult than a gas station.

I did have to drive my boss around San Diego once and was inducted into the world of In-N-Out. Since it took 20 minutes just to get into the lot and park and another 20 to order and get food, I expected the best burger on the planet. It's probably worth noting that I wasn't eating burgers but got one anyway because of the hype. Did not measure up for me. Also wasn't a Varsity fan. Ah, well.

Mornin' All!

Aqua Zumba this morning - then nuttin' other than continuing to try to get caught up with things. Last night I watched the film that our film discussion group will be discussing at our Friday meeting - "Imitation Game", about Alan Turing. Loved it. It's on Netflix.

we're going to a Hindu wedding tomorrow which I'm so looking forward to. It's from 11-3 at the Hindu temple in town. Reception will be Saturday from 5:00 pm - midnight (maybe I told you guys this? I can't remember). This is actually a short one since I read it's very common for Hindu wedding festivities to last for several days (at least in India). We're at risk of a heavy snowstorm tomorrow afternoon through Friday morning, so it sounds like we'll be OK as far as the wedding goes, since hopefully there won't be much snow before the ceremony ends at 3:00. And they'll for sure have all the roads cleared before the reception on Saturday. But I'm a little worried about my doctor's appt at 9:30 on Friday morning - as well as our film discussion group at noon that day. But...we'll see. Most of the snowstorms they've predicted this season turned out to be duds - either they completely missed us, or the 6" of snow they called for turned out to be more like an inch or two. Fingers cross that'll be the case this time as well.

QOTD: my father and brother, no. My mother has always struggled with her weight, but on the other hand, she's always been successful with her struggle - as in she's managed to keep her weight at a normal level. My sister and I were not so lucky. My sister has never been as big as I was at one time, though.

B: plain skyr with fruit, coffee with half & half

MS: protein shake (btw - a new post-op that I met the other day (she had some RTD Unjury shakes that she wanted to get rid of, because she loved them pre-surgery but couldn't deal with them afterward - so I bought them off her) gave me some samples of a protein powder that she really loves - by Clean Simple Eats. I'd never even heard of this before (maybe it's a newer brand?), but it's really good. I esp loved the "brownie batter" flavor. Even though it's pretty pricey and I need more protein powder like I need a hole in my head, I ordered some yesterday. Hopefully it'll arrive while DH is at work, because I'm sure he'll have something to say about there being even more protein powder in the house than there already was....)

L: hummus sandwich (on 35-calorie bread with tomato and cucumber slices)

AS: protein muffin

D: spinach/mushroom kugel

have a great day, everyone!

Years ago, DH worked with a physician who was from India (but became a US citizen). We went to his wedding reception, and it was fabulous. Indians love to celebrate and dance at weddings. Yous should have fun.

That was a good movie, and I think Benedict Whatshisname did a great job.

The wedding sounds unique. Hope it goes well for you tomorrow!

Good morning ~ I have a friend that lives in Rutland, VT. She says the rural areas around there are quite depressed talks about how sad it is. Houses are so affordable compared to CA that I'm almost tempted, but the weather... Yesterday's NUT appt was great - I love her and brought her flowers! If it weren't for her, I wouldn't be on this path and I couldn't be happier. She is like a best friend that you talk with non stop and she shares everything - good bad and ugly and I don't want our time to end. I was able to get all my questions answered and I'm ready - 4.5 weeks to go. I see the Dr on Thursday to go over my surgery details. Nothing special going on at work, just plugging away.

QOTD - My dad's side, none. My moms side, all the women are overweight. My sisters and I are all overweight. Two of us have had surgery and regain. The next gen - all have had their heavier times, including my son right now - it kills me.

Accountability - ended up having soup and crackers last night instead of tacos

B- coffee, barebells bar

l- salad, tuna, mayo and RWV

d- pork tacos

s- TJ's cheese bites

e-yoga

Have a wonderful day!
