Morning everyone! I didn't think I'd have time to post today but I am up nice and early. Grim and I decided today is our adventure day and we are headed to MEXICO!

...J/K sort of... we are going to Mexico, Maine, lol. It's a tiny town in the middle of nowhere, but they have an exotic wood store, so we are on our way :) We're leaving at 4:30am to try to miss the worst of the traffic through Boston and we will drive up the coast.

QOTD: What's an inexpensive gadget that you have and love? I struggle with joint pain in my hands from arthritis. I recently bought these big mittens on Amazon that are filled with beans that you can microwave and wear. They somehow produce a moist heat that really help the swelling and the warmth lasts for hours. I love them and they were under $25! I am excited to warm them up and wear them on our road trip this morning :)

Plans for food are to find a breakfast place some time around 8am. After the wood store we are going to meander down to an area where I used to spend summers and find lunch there. Then wind our way back the long way though New Hampshire. Not sure if we will need to find dinner out, too. We are going to bring a bunch of Quest bars, too, just in case.

Yay for an adventure day!

Good mornin everyone.

Not a lot happening here today. We have to go get some prescriptions but that's the only thing we "have" to do. Oh and I have a zoom appointment with my psychologist...almost forgot about it!

Really not feeling all that great. Can't put a finger on it totally but just feeling lots of pain and so so very exhausted.

QOTD: hmmm I would have to pick my favorite brand of pliers. Xuron makes wide(r) nosed pliers that has handle that fit my big hands. I also have a loop making pair of pliers that's pretty handy...the xurons are around 20 or less and I forget how much the loop making pliers were.

food is totally unplanned and I should really work on that!

Hello everyone!

Saw my GP (PCP) today and my blood pressure is officially in the excellent range, GP (PCP) is happy with me, got a new anxiety medication (ssri) that is a bit easier on side effects (last one had me doing weird things in sleep) and I'm feeling good.

Today is 6 weeks, I am down 28 kilos (61 pounds) and happy to have a good day :) Thought I'd share.

Even told my GP about this thread haha (He had warned me not to go online, he's even heard of people faking having certain surgeries, bariatric or otherwise, to stress would be/new patients etc. I couldn't but think, why would you bother? lol)

QOTD: $25 head massager haha love it

Food: B) Meal replacement shake (Cookies and Cream) by ManShake - has 30g of Protein so it's a no brainer now S) Bodiez Berry Protein Water L) Cottage Pie (only small amount of mash potato, but a lot of ground beef and vegetables S) Yogurt (one of those 15g protein version) D) Ground Turkey

Have a great day!

There are definitely a lot of less than useful WL/WLS groups online so he's not wrong; you just found one of the good ones:-)

Congratulations on your progress, that's amazing! It's good to watch your numbers improve over all your health metrics and see the changes. The nsv's are well on their way!

I tell my therapist and doctors about posting here. My surgeon does warn about Dr. Google and the misinformation that can come with online support groups (Flintstones vitamins are always an example they raise). I still do a lot of reading and research and just try to apply good critical thinking and the "your mileage may vary" lens. Cheers!

there are definitely some bad WLS groups out there, esp on Facebook. OH was recommended by my clinic, though, so I figured it was "safe" - and it is. Any misinformation that gets posted on here gets shot down pretty quickly.

61 lbs in 6 weeks is phenomenal. Congrats!
They had told me an average of 10 lbs a month makes me a success.
