Just a thought...nowadays with Uber/Lyft you don't take away anybody's independence. She can call them up or you can call them for her. It's just a matter of getting used to.
My grandma was getting old (mid 80s) and my uncle decided to take away her license. He could afford it so he provided her with a driver (before Uber was a thing) that she could call at any time. To begin with she was very upset but after a month or so she actually started liking it; she said she was being driven around like a queen.

I totally get it. I've been dealing with the same kinds of things with my 88-year-old mother. Luckily she gave up her car without a fight - but I have to go to the doctor with her to make sure she's being upfront and truthful, drive her everywhere, shop for her, etc. It was easier when my sister was living in the area since there were two of us to do all of this, but it's on me now. Oh well - c'est la vie.

Good morning from Van Horn, TX. There is nothing here except a big rig gas station and a great stop over RV park. Huge dog run for the boys plus we took them for a walk last night. I was spot on for food for the day, but did have wine last night. Today I have been out for my power walk and added push ups and bench dips at the end of row. I couldn't see anyone staring at my weird self but I'm sure they were looking out the windows.

QoTD. I am not going back. And if I had to stay forward, I would choose neither. Don't want to miss out on the kids and grands.

menu

B. Last of my chicken tenders and wffle that started as breakfast on FEB. 25. Got four good meals out of that order!

L. Chicken salad and half an apple if still hungry

D. Shepard's pie I just pulled from the freezer. These stop over nights are not friendly to breaking out the bbq and chairs and all, so I am working my way through all the frozen stuff I had pre done and packed.

Peace Everybody.

LOL. I just pictured you doing your dips and push-ups, and those Texans watching you behind their curtains mumbling "liberal Californian, comes here to sully our red god fearing state with her workouts!"

more QOTD: I would go back if I only had to stay one day. I want to remember again what it felt like to be morbidly obese, just to compare it with how I feel now. I'd also like to see friends and family who've since passed, and say the things I never had a chance to say to them. I would love to see my father again as he used to be before he had Alzheimer's. Ten years ago he was already dealing with it, but it was still mild and he had long periods of lucidity (unlike his last year or two, when he was almost always out of it). I'm not sure I want to know the future - I'm afraid too many more friends and family will have passed (I'm getting to that age where it's starting to happen all too often, even now...). But I guess I could handle one day. It might make it easier to plan if I knew what kinds of things might happen...

That is interesting; we're all here every day working to not get back to pre-WLS point -- I don't even want to do it for a day, if I can avoid it. I remember how it feels and how much better it is now.

oh I would not want to go back to pre-WLS. I remember being miserable then. But it took almost two years to lose all that weight, and it would be interesting to compare how exactly I felt then to what I feel now.

Hello!

QoTD: oh my I would love to go back and have a little chat to myself :) and also place some bets on events I now know the outcome to hahaha

Have finally added eggs back in so enjoyed some scrambled eggs yesterday which was nice.

Food today is a shake, yogurt, ground Turkey abs some cheese. Will probably throw in an extra protein shake if I can stomach it (shakes are getting a bit harder to deal with tbh)

Enjoy your day!
