What's on your Monday Menu?
G'morning all!
Great job, QJB, on your 92! And what a relief that next semester will be easy. Seems like, to me, you are flying through this masters program.
We had a great weekend. Saw some snow and drove through it as if we were in Tahoe. Lots of road closures and traffic but we got to the theatre on time to see My Fair lady. At the beginning there were a couple of ladies behind me that wouldn't stop talking/whispering to the point of distraction. I turned around a couple of times to indicate their talking was interfering with the show but to no avail. Finally the lady next to me turned around and yelled QUIET; I jumped I was not expecting her to be so loud but it did the trick, those ladies behind us didn't make a peep. I was so scared that a couple of times that DH leaned to say something in my ear I shushed him, worried the lady would yell at us too. Yesterday the weather was the perfect day to stay under the covers and read, but we got in a walk before the storm hit us full force.
QOTD: neither, if I have to I'd rather dance than sing. I don't even sing when I'm alone let alone in front of people.
My meals yesterday:
- Coffee + quest bar
- Thai satay chicken skewers
- Fage yogurt
- Riced heart of palm w/chicken & sauté veggies
- E: 5 miles neighborhood uphill walk
Happy start of the week!

Yummy "omelet"! Funny meme.
I am working today since I have a meeting I agreed to come in for. No biggie though since I will be able to flex Thursday off instead of taking a PTO day. It will be a quick short week. My work evaluation went well on Friday, no surprises and my boss rated me as I rated myself. Solid in some areas, role model in others. The weekend flew by with errands on Saturday (after my workout of course), then dinner with my sister and BIL. It was nice to see them. Sunday, me and my friend went to the movie Year of the Dog. A couple people here said they hated the movie, but then mentioned a specific actor. The movie I went to has the same name but is an independent feature that was released this year. It was really good. Interestingly, the movie was written by the man who is from our area, he was also the main actor. After the movie, he held a Q&A session. The movie will be released in some independent theaters in different areas then to streaming services in May. If you get a chance, you should watch it, it was well written, and acting is also good.
QOTD: Boy, I don't know which would be better or worse. Maybe friends.

Good afternoon JB and Menu Friends! Happy Monday.
Congrats on your Accounting Grade JB and you must be excited the light is at the end of the tunnel!
The weekend seemed to fly by, cold and snow flurries all weekend. The snow was very fine and makes the roads very slick. We took a ride to Burlington Vt on Saturday and yesterday we went snow shoeing with good friends, a nice afternoon - mid 20's and a light snow. Ill post pictures on Friday.
QOTD - I like to sing, I sang in a Band when I was a HS and stopped singing around 91. For many years I would get called up to sing with different groups, now I am so far removed from the scene and do not go out much at all. I still like to sing karaoke. Ill have to see if there is a way for me to post a video?

My Vermont friend occasionally mentions snowshoeing. I guess my brain can't process what makes this a "fun" activity rather than just punishment. Probably because in my mind you have to walk with your feet apart and it just sounds painful. But I hope you had fun!

For Christmas this year , Joddie and I gifted one another with snowshoes. We have been twice, I was surprised at how similar to walking it is. our snow shoes are much smaller than the old traditional style. I will share a couple pictures on Friday

A day at a time. You're working toward your new normal. RNY folks do have a much longer transition time when it comes to diet, it seems. Good to play it safe, though!
