So to make sure I understand, your three food groups are meat, cheese, and baked stuff? I could get on board with that.

And this is a real screenshot of a headline that came through as breaking news on my phone yesterday. I swear it wasn't me.

Happy Friday! I was a big old lump yesterday. No idea why, but I couldn't concentrate or motivate. I can't account for the day at all, except for a little bit of baking, one paper written, and I watched all of the Murdaugh Murders show on Netflix. I MUST motivate today.

Photo Friday = cookies. Love these butterflies! And I randomly made a shamrock shake cookie yesterday, haha.

QOTD: What reality show would you like to be on? When I was in my 20s I totally wanted to be on the Real World. My BFF and I applied for the Boston season! I also wanted to be on Trading Spaces at the time, haha. But now I want to be on The Great British Bake Off!

B: Protein Coffee & egg bites

S: cheese stick

L: Costco street tacos

D: chicken, probably?

I SUPER love that Mcdonalds cookie!!! I always have one Shamrock shake in my mom's memory every season. She really loved them. I'm not crying over that cookie...my eyes sweat alot

QJB: beautiful butterflies and cute shamrock cookie.

Pineapple on pizza is controversial. It seems people are on either extreme to like/dislike. I am on the dislike side, but DD likes it on her pizza. I would prefer to add something spicy instead. Funny about the Popeyes news. I just heard about a woman who pulled a gun on McDonalds employees at the drive through because they forgot her free cookie. I know their chocolate chip cookies are the bomb but really was that necessary. Not only did she pull the gun out in the drive through but then proceeded to park and enter the store with the gun. *****es be crazy! What is wrong with people and their level of tolerance? I don't get it.

Today I have my annual job evaluation. We start out with a self-evaluation submitted to the boss before we are scheduled to meet. I really am not fond of self-evaluation. It is funny a few years ago, my then boss, said that no one should get a 5/5 rating since most people are average at their jobs. I remember being angry at my evaluation at the time since I felt I did contribute to the nursing unit above average. I do understand what he meant but there are areas where people perform above (or below) average. Nonetheless, I don't expect any surprise bad reports from my current boss since we tend to have monthly one to ones for updates. A few meetings today and hope to be out of the office around 2pm.

I actually have some plans this weekend. My sister is visiting from Seattle this weekend so I will get together with her, her husband, daughter and her boyfriend on Saturday. Not sure what is planned but I am assuming eating out will occur. Sunday my friend asked me to go to a movie called the Year of the Dog. We are going to a matinee, then dinner out to catch up. I am looking forward to both those days. I do need of meal prep for the week but will have a short week since DD and I are going on a short trip to Butte MT and a local hot spring on Thursday through the weekend. I

QOTD: a home makeover show like Love It or List It, Forever Home, the Gaines show. I love to see the transformations. Preferably one where the show pays for the renovations (if there is such a thing).

A few years ago, we switched from 5 level rating to just 3. Exceptional, Successful and Needs Improvement. 95% are successful. If you do your job - average or even very good - you are successful. Exceptional has criteria that has to be documented with examples and the bar is high. TBH as a supervisor it's so much easier but for staff it took some explaining.

Ah, it must have been the "new thing". At the old place we went from the 1-5 ranking to the three categories (no longer numbers). Exact verbiage too.

Same same. Much better this way than the forced ranking they used to make us do. I had a team then and we spent so much time forcing people into the top and bottom of the bell curve. And those in the bottom had a habit of just disappearing after a bit.
