Did anyone else experience this, nearly 5 weeks out from surgery and been a pretty good drinker but today i can feel it going down and it's just not enjorable. I feel a bit off (lack of sleep), but it's not making me sick, so I am forcing it down when I can.

Presume this is a normal thing that happens from time to time?

For some people it's also the temp of the water that makes the difference. Some people at the beginning can drink water only at room temp, some people need to sip very slowly all day long. You are still very close to your surgery date and need to heal. Take it easy and try different ways.

Glad to hear you're feeling better! Water intake can be fickle. One day no issues or even half the day no issues and then all of a sudden it is an issue. Some folks will all it a small pouch day when eating and drinking just fills you up quickly.

I am almost 7 years post op and drinking straigh****er is extremely uncomfortable to me, still. I have been told that it's because water has a very high surface tension which means thst it is harder to break down and get absorbed, so it backs up. Diluting the water with crystal light or drinking gatorade or other liquids that break down the surface tension help a lot.

Oh wow I don't typically have that issue but I just say sugar free electrolyte drinks go down very easy versus water so makes sense.

I do keep a pitcher of Crystal Lite and it is much easier to drink than water.
