Oh hey, I'm also on a wellness committee for work. We're in the process of kicking off our workstreams and I'm a part of building out tools and resources that support wellness. I volunteered to lead the work as I'm very passionate about how we apply wellness at work. Cheers to you and the work you're doing!

Hey - I didn't give you permission to post my picture! I like My Chemical Romance and similar bands. I'm a big punk / metalhead at heart. I feel at home surrounded by black clad, pierced, inked, emo, gothic, etc. You're right on in the description of mysterious beauty. Those have been and always will be my people. I'm also into punk and metal! I used to be subdued emo. Now I can't be because black just shows all the pet hair! LOL

Good morning all and Happy Thursday,
My attitude is good even though there's lots still going on. Looking forward to eventually getting a chunk of time to myself. Thanks for all the support!
QOTD - I love people watching. I don't really have a favorite place. However, any place where there is a large group of strangers that I don't know is great. Airports, Festivals, concerts, & other cities come to mind as the best.

Kudos for being able to maintain the positive attitude in this time. Glad your dad is progressing.
Airports seem like a good place to see the good and bad in humanity. Reunions and tantrums in the same space. Always fun.

Oooh, I love airports too.
Some people are dressed to the nines, and some people show up as if they have just rolled out of bed and plan to go back to bed on the flight.

We did get snow, about 6" and it will probably stick around through the weekend. The high today is supposed to be 32 and the low is 21 so not a lot of melting going on. I did put on my Sorel boots and went out for a short walk, I had to try out my hat that I knitted it's like a balaclava, the pattern called it a helmet. It kept my ears and face warm, but I wasn't really out there very long.
Snow in the Portland area pretty much shuts down the roads. There were so many places where people just abandoned their cars and left them sometimes in the middle of the road. Plus the bridges are ice skating rinks and some people just don't get that so there were multiple backups all over. Plus we have many hilly roads and people don't really know how to drive in snow or ice. My solution is to stay home and watch the idiots on the news. I always feel sorry for the news people, the ones low on the totem pole they send out to stand on overpasses or the side of the road and film the chaos. It just looks miserable. And we have one station that will show news and weather all day, you would think it is snowpocolypse... It is pretty though.
Not much work, I'm hoping something will come in to keep me busy.
Have a great day everyone!

I live in Spokane WA. Yesterday at my yoga class (2/23/23) gentleman said that he got stuck at the Portland airport due to the snow and ice. He said everything was shut down including taxis, Ubers/Lyft, the light rail, etc because the roads were basically ice rinks.

On the ferry from Finland to Estonia they had these rye garlic bread batons that were so delicious. Everyone kept moving the basket away from themselves because when it was in arm's reach it was irresistible. A number of my fellow travelers were already making plans to recreate them in their air fryers at home
