What's on your Thursday Menu?

Haha, this meme was a perfect description of me when my mom and I went to the caterer the other day. We walked in and we were hit by the most incredible garlic smell. We joked that they probably just keep garlic on the stove at all times just to get people hungry when they are choosing the menu, lol.

We have some messy winter weather today, so I will stay hunkered in. Cookies, papers, repeat :)

I finished the 3rd season of YOU last night. OMG.

QOTD: Where is your favorite place to people watch? I used to live very nearby Harvard Square and it was so fun to find an outdoor cafe and gawk. It was a very interesting place--lots of hippies, performers, academics, tourists, etc.

Accountability: I guess it was because of yesterday's meme, but I was like the Very Hungry Caterpillar yesterday. I was just a ravenous bottomless pit all day. I had a few unplanned extra cheese sticks, and popcorn.

B: egg bites

S: cheese stick and almonds

L: turkey meatballs

D: chicken

Good morning QJB and menuers,

Stay safe with the weather!

QOTD- Definitely Oktoberfest. People go to have a good time. Apply kegs of beer, music, and food. Just a good time all around. Part of why I enjoy going.

I was cleared for lifting and exercise yesterday, so yay for that. On the other side, my dent has a possibility of being permanent. When they place the sutures, you're of course laying flat and they can't tell how you redistribute when vertical. I'll know in a month or so when the sutures dissolve whether it becomes a permanent feature. I hope not. She said they would have fixed it if they had seen. Also, I totally had all the stones in my gallbladder. And signs of chronic inflammation. So I guess surgery was the right move.

Oh, she also said I can take off the glue. That stuff is staying as long as I can keep it on, thanks!

Going to work from home again today, though I'd been tossing up going in. Cleared or not, stuff is still tender at the end of the day and I'd rather deal with it at home.

Accountability- Switched out taco casserole for Italian wedding soup meatballs and had roasted cauliflower and chicken. Work also mailed me a Harry and David package of salted caramels. Sigh.

Exercise - Will either give the recumbent bike or elliptical some time today.

Menu - more taco casserole, ratio yogurt, lamb, and blueberries. Yay for food prep. Probably two yogurts.

Have a fabulous day, everyone!

I had a study done because of an ultrasound of my abdomen which showed I had sludge and or a large gall stone. Gallstones or not it seems to be working. So for now I get to keep the gall bladder. Every time you get a test it brings another issue up. Same thing happened with the kidneys... I get abnormal results on tests with no symptoms experienced and then it's mri time. Nothing abnormal there either. Sigh. A although grateful nothing is wrong. I hope your dent is not permanent. I have one in my arm from radiation fibrous from cancer treatment years ago. It is permanent, although no one notices it but me. Maybe they will consider a scar revision if it causes you pain.

Doesn't it feel like once you pick up a new doctor you can't get rid of them? You take a blood test for your PCP, they see something in it and refer to a specialist. Then the Specialist says nothing is wrong, come back in a year. Viola, two doctors. They are like Tribbles.

It is a mutual referral service which keeps them all making money from seeing patients. If they find out you are retired, it gets even worse.

Agree with Jim...doctors do seem to breed more doctors. I'm glad you're able to keep your organs and that nothing came back!

With mine, it's not shocking that the first thing the surgeon wanted to do was cut, so I'm trying to get better about second opinions on top of asking questions. Amazing how medical advice can differ wildly based on the specialty of the doctor im question!

Thanks! Seems to be heading the other way but I have hopes. If it's aesthetics, so be it. I just hope that feeling of my organs rearranging subsides. High hopes for that, at least!

If you choose skin removal it may be in an area that can be removed. they take a lot off when they do it.

Good to know! It's for sure in my "upper" stomach area. That's one of the places where I can still lose some weight, so we'll see how it looks in another six months!
