What's on your Tuesday Menu

Ooh, Whole 30! I've looked at it before but it removes whole grains, dairy, and legumes. Hope it works out for you and that your happy hours stay just as happy with water. You've got good goals!
I'm also assuming there's a Whole 30 option with your meal delivery service. Hopefully!

That is a good question on the Hello Fresh.

"Removes whole grains, dairy, and legumes." Everything we should not be eating no matter if you're on Whole 30 or not. Grains cheese and a bunch of beans will slow weight loss very quickly. And it adds sugar to your diet. I can't do it but wish I could. I never had diabetes, so I do not know what that is all about.

Fair point! I've eaten more ratio yogurt and Greek yogurt in the last year than probably the five years before it and have been relying on that (and cottage cheese) to supplement protein without having to rely on shakes.
Whole grains and beans though...I was told last month to start adding 15g of carbs to each meal based on that and starchy veggies. Feels like it's only made things more difficult, to be honest...so might be with you on that. But, oatmeal...
But seriously, I know all the simple carbs products are hard off the table but hadn't been told no complex carbs ever. Something to ask about. Thanks.

I've done whole 30 before and really liked it - potatoes are allowed! I didn't realize you were off Ozempic (or reduced?), I hear they the supply is coming back.

I am on 1.0 Ozempic. When we were in Orange County, Magenta said that was a maintenance dose, but I loved it. At my December endocrinologist, she said she wants to put me on 2.0 but there are no 2.0 pens available. So she put me on Glipizide. Good for sugar, bad for weight, bad for toes to bar. Hopefully at my April appointment I can get off of it.

My mom was on Glipizide at one point or another. all the meds really. No matter how careful she was she could not lose weight. I come from a long line of type II diabetes going back to my great grandmother but have managed to avoid that diagnosis thus far.

I'm glad to hear that for you and Amy, too. I was in remission for about a year after surgery, but started creeping up again. I had been diagnosed for 15 years pre-surgery, so my doctors kind of expected me to be back on those meds.

Whole 30 is definitely effective! The purpose is not just for weight loss, it is to determine what foods might be causing you any inflammation or other side effects that you are now aware of until you have detoxed from everything and introduced it back in slowly. Personally, I didn't find any surprises. But now that I have developed RA it might be good to try again to see if I have a particular triggers.
I don't think I am up for it in this round but I will be cheering you on!
