Watch your back, Em. Nothing good is coming from that suggestion. You should hear his thoughts on turkey bacon...

Yea... I wouldn't even consider... and I'm not a meat purist. Just no.

So much stuff I completely avoid

Impossible Chicken Made From Plants is made with soy protein to deliver that meaty bite. This plant-based protein is a good source of--yep!--protein, as well as essential minerals like potassium. Sunflower oil gives Impossible Chicken its juiciness. And holding it all together is methylcellulose (a common binder in sauces, jams, even ice cream) and food starch (a carbohydrate regularly used in foods like canned soup). A blend of herbs and seasoning gives our plant-based chicken a delicious, savory flavor. And lastly, wheat flour creates golden-brown breadcrumbs to give it a crispy coating.

Chemically processed soy, the omega 6, and wood. Plus wheat. Nope.

All of the fake meat is like that. A very long list of chemicals. But, who doesn't like a bowl of microcellular nitrocellulose?

Ill have to try those. I love their burgers! (I haven't knowingly eaten ground beef in years - but I do miss burgers. Impossible Burgers and Beyond Burgers fill the bill!)

My vote is any time a food has to be engineered to imitate another food, it's made from science, which generally isn't the best thing to eat. Few exceptions apply. I do use TVP to stand in for ground beef but mine has one ingredient. Soy. :)

Morning QJB and all!

My mom arrived safe and sound yesterday. We were supposed to go out for a fancy dinner but our 17 year old suddenly got super sick with a cold and so we ordered in Chinese. We almost never order in but it was decent. I had a very small plate. Everyone else ate mountains of it.

QOTD: When I'm in the south I love Publix. Here I do Giant and Trader Joe's and Costco. Very rarely, Whole Paycheck.

B: egg drop soup. Yummo.
L: Leftover chinese before we hit the road. A few bites of chicken and a small bit of lo mein

D: we are driving to Philadelphia this afternoon and meeting a friend and her mom for dinner at a brewery. I think I will get a turkey burger or fish tacos.

Our hotel is a block from TJs and we have a small kitchen so I'll grab groceries after I drop my mom at the hospital in the morning. Then I'm getting Botox whoohoooooo!

This is my last week of freedom, so I'll be sure to continue resting and recuperating. Back to work a week from today.
