Bloody Mary mix has become my go to on airplanes. Tasty, almost always get a full can and it doesn't seem to run through me like Diet Coke. Although, I have come to accept that any flight over 2 hours, I'm peeing.

I held it all the way from Chicago to Tokyo once, because that was when I weighed well over 300 lbs and was afraid I wouldn't fit in the airplane's bathroom - or worse yet, I'd get stuck in there! I thought I was going to DIE before we landed!!

My mother refused to get up on a 17 hour flight from Dallas to Sydney some years back. We had a whole row to ourselves. Not sure if she wanted to get clots or what but she was adamantly against using the airplane bathroom.

OMG! As an Australian who has flown overseas many times, I can't imagine not getting up regularly! Think our shortest international flight is maybe 3 hours (NZ).

haha Was she really stiff when she landed and HAD to get up?

Oh for sure. She had some time to stretch out though since we were in row...40 something. So we let her hobble down the aisle so she could be the first of us to deplane since we were there to celebrate her birthday. I think she saw it as some kind of achievement or something. Dunno.

I'm a big fan of Bloody Marys on a weekend morning. How do you like your Bloody Marys made? For my bloody Marys, it's all about the ritual. Minced garlic, fresh ground pepper, chohula or El yucateco hot sauce, Mrs. T's Bloody Mary mix, splash of pickle juice and 3 blue cheese stuffed olives on a sword skewer.

I also go for the bloody Mary mix on the plane. There's something about it that comforts me in the air.

I use to frequent a bar that did bottomless bloodies with like 1,000 choices for $15. Debauchery usually unfolded.

Anything with Blue Cheese olives is good. I think the ones I have like the best have had some horseradish in them. And maybe Old Bay??

Good morning!

Yesterday I was spot on with food and only water to drink. We celebrated the youngest grands' birthday. Nine! Can't believe how fast they are growing. We did chores in the morning and then spent all afternoon at the zoo with the kids. Then we had Hot Pot for dinner. Our first experience and boy was I challenged. Dunking and mixing and trying not to make too huge a mess. We had lots of fun and you really can't ask for a better dinner out for our WLS journeys. I mean it's hot broth and you keep mixing in veggies and super thinly sliced meats. We plan to try again but think we should watch a TiK Tok video or two first!

Today I am a mixed bag of emotions. So excited to finish loading the rig to leave tomorrow. But when my daughter kissed me goodbye last night, she said "see you in four months!" And I almost started crying and wanted to cancel. And my heart today is bouncing between excitement and dread. I will miss her face SO much. But we can also facetime or something and there is no way we'd go more than a day or two without texting or calling. Bonus on the excitement side, we found out my best friend is going to be staying right on our path, so we are making our first official detour on day 4 and spend the night with them.

I have to load up the fridge and freezer in the rig with what I have and load in my clothes and our towels and linens. And shoes! I have to pick shoes and keep it down to what will fit in my mini closet in the rig! That's not going to be easy. And work out clothes, extra purses, 3 seasons of weather options...so many decisions to make today. And a trip to Trader Joe's and the grocery store. Busy day ahead.

QoTD: I'm pretty fickle. I do love pinks and yellows. But also Olive green and blues.

Menu today

B: Costco rotisserie chicken

L: Probably more rotisserie chicken

D: Maybe dinner out since I'll have stripped the kitchen of all it's fun spices and almost all the food.

Peace Everybody! I need to get busy on my day!

P.S. I hate packing for a trip. I used to very efficient. Now, ugh.
