I haven't touched my snowblower all winter. I used the shovel once, but just to push, not shovel.

you guys were lucky! We haven't had much snow this year at all - but there were a couple of days when we had 4-5". We live on a corner, so we have a lot of sidewalk to clear. Also, we're the only people on the street with a two-stage snowblower, so during bad storms (which we haven't really had this year), DH is out snowblowing other people's walks, too...

Good luck with the reading! And hope you're able to make it to the party.

I remember as a kid we had a tractor mounted snowblower with a homemade cab built onto it so it could have a heater inside. When the adults didn't feel like snowblowing, the next best thing was handing the kids shovels and having us work out the energy.

Got to say, I've never personally lived in a HOA neighborhood with rules on shoveling sidewalks. What happens if you aren't home?

our neighborhood isn't HOA, but the city requires people to shovel their sidewalks by noon after a storm ends (so if it ends at 4:00 pm on a Monday, you have until noon on Tuesday to have your walks cleared). If not, you'll be fined - although I doubt they're able to fine everyone who doesn't have their walks cleared since the city would have to go out and verify that your sidewalk isn't done. I think with most people who are fined (and some are), someone has called the city to complain that so-and-so hasn't shoveled their walks yet. The fine is pretty steep, though, so most people are compliant.

we have agreements with our neighbors to shovel each other's walks when someone isn't home (although some older people on our street have a service that does it - even when they're home)

Oh, interesting, thank you for sharing. One of the things I'd never have thought about! My family lives in a HOA neighborhood but they don't deal with snow and there wouldn't be any city mandates. Glad you all are able to work together!

Out here, all I've had to deal with so far is getting a bill in the mail from the volunteer fire department to support upkeep of their station. It's the first time outside of taxes and during filing of said taxes I've been billed in addition to, which is apparently allowed by local statute. If we don't pay, they can charge us to respond to an incident. That one was new to me!

Aussie, It doesn't snow where I live either. One winter we planned a trip so that I could see snow. It was so beautiful and we had a room with a fireplace and a balcony that hung over the icy river that was still flowing. Well it was more of a creek. As much as I loved it, I would never ever want to have to deal with it on a daily basis!

Good morning everybody!

A dreaded phone post our home internet doesn't seem to be working.

23.1 is the same as 14.4

14 minutes of

60 calorie row

50 toes to bar

40 wall balls 20 lbs, 9 feet

30 power cleans 115 pounds

20 muscle ups

Even 1 muscle up is a hard no for me, so my best possible score would be 180.

I can do Toes to bar, but can't hold my chubby butt on the bar long enough to string many together.

The plan of attack will be to do the scaled version today, which substitutes sit-ups for toes to bar, a 14 inch wallball, and jumping chest to bar for the muscle up. I really should get through one round of that at least. I will do the unscaled version on Sunday.

Dinner was nice last night and was super healthy as expected. At least until Marilyn brought out the Pasczis that she bought in the morning. As a gesture of courtesy, she left the uneaten Pasczis at our hosts home, but is feeling remorseful and may get more.

This weekend is mostly the Open and finishing the last 70 pages of Becoming a Supple Leopard.

So, recently, when I said goodbye to this lady she winked at me. It stressed me to no end. Maybe she could tell that I already didn't know whether to hug her or shake her hand and decided to completely fluster me.

Photo Friday. Severide and Stella's honeymoon spot from the park down the street. I think we were out of town during filming.

QOTD: I think my orange nerf football was my favorite toy as a child. It got very beat up and ratty from being out in the weather.

menu is kind of fake. In reality, I will do whatever Marilyn tells me to do.

breakfast : protein bar

lunch: Roast beef

Dinner: Hello Fresh

Have a good weekend all!
