What's on your Wednesday Menu?
It was good. Long. And she spoiled the ending for me.

Good morning QJB and menuers,
JB, that sounds like something I had happen once that my doctor said was shingles. There was a patch on my shoulder that felt it was being shredded apart from the inside. Just ripping, tearing pain with nothing visible. Granted, I never got checked or went back to see that doctor but that was her feedback after asking if I had chickenpox as a kid (too old for the vaccine).
QOTD- Changeable. Have gone from snow and freezing to 75 degrees.
I'm attempting to catch up with emails right now. Three days out and I have 178 in my inbox...and that's with me checking in a couple times to try and minimize the wave. Kicking off today with a team strategy meeting and I'd already let my boss know that I won't be coming to the office this week. Given all the weird stuff I'm feeling around the surgery site, would rather play it safe.
I spent a bit of yesterday annoying my clinic and doctors about the incisions since they look so much different than my July ones. I'd rather ask and play it safe. No bruising this time but the one cut is three times the size of the others. Boo. Also still up two pounds from surgery. Lots of grace there since it's a traumatic event.
Just trying to tread water today!
Accountability- Ate all day to get protein and lots of it.
Exercise - Walking and gentle stretching
Menu
Chicken soup x2, ratio yogurt, keto beef stew, egg salad, wasa cracker and seaweed.
Happy Wednesday, folks!

I had a doctor tell me once that those little shingles episodes are like winning a lottery because you don't need the vaccine and won't get a bad case.

That's an interesting perspective. Whatever that pain was, it was some of the worst I've ever felt. I would not want to experience a "bad" episode if that was a good one. Truly shudder-worthy.

I got the two shingles shots about a year or so ago. I was getting covid shots and boosters at the time, so it seemed silly to not get shingles Vax too. It definitely made it more convenient.

Several people had warned me about the reaction to the shingles vax, followed by "but it's still better than shingles" and after seeing a couple of colleagues and friends get it..including one that had it on his eye, I was counting down the days until I was old enough to get the vax. I got to it the first possible day.

I didn't have any reaction to it that I noticed. I had 5 covid shots, the original 2 and 3 boosters. The second booster gave me a fever for a few days, but none of the other shots were an issue.
Better a small reaction to a vaccine than a big reaction to a disease.
