What's on your Tuesday Menu, Valentines?

I wish more people would come here but I think a lot of people like the drama of the Facebook groups. I was on a few very early on but the mid-information was strong And the drama was so high. I hope everyone finds the support that works for them but those groups were not it for me. This one really is!

once I was over a year out, i particularly liked OH because there were a lot more "vets" on it than there are/were on other, similar internet forums (and we won't even get in to FB groups). I got tired of the millions of (and pretty much only) questions like "why has my weight loss stopped? I'm only three weeks out. I've already failed the surgery!". Or "I'm two weeks out and I ate a cheeseburger. Was this OK?". Or "I'm a month out and I've only lost 20 lbs. I'm so disappointed! I thought I would have lost a lot more by now". ARRRGGGHH!! Also, any misinformation is corrected really quickly here. Not so on other sites. Finally, this site was much more relevant to me at that point in my journey (mostly because of all the vets on here). And it still is relevant - I still learn things on here!
The "picture" you got here was always skewed. Most of the questions were new-ish people who either had problems, or were afraid of a particular potential problem. So it could seem a little dark.
But focusing on people further out usually shows what longer term life is like. The folks who have been consistently active on here are great examples.

I agree with the skewed picture and mostly newer people who ask the same questions the previous new person had. I like that this group is 1) supportive of each other's journey and struggles, 2) not afraid to gently point you in the right direction, and 3) have a variety of people who are at different stages of their journey. Of course, there are many other reasons to love this group. Such great people here offering hope and support.

This thread is really the only one I'm active in across the whole internet for WLS. It is special and the people are good. Sometimes you get tough love but it's only because these folks want to see everyone succeed. You do hear the bad at times but there is so much positive in the daily menu thread.

Lot of truth in this! I don't have Facebook but still read some surgery threads on Reddit as a point of comparison. The same three or four questions come across a few times per day and there is a ton of misinformation out there, sadly.
I do see some folks come back and post on their surgiversaries, specifically. That's always good to hear about!
You're right, though, even in my time here I've seen dozens of people come through making a single post with no follow up. To all the vets here, thanks for weathering it out with us fickle newbies over and over again with a lot of similar questions. I'm sure you never know who will stick around over time. The 24 hour hold on new accounts makes sense but in today's world of instant gratification, it might be too much for some people.
I've made a point of trying to go back and provide updates on some of my posts because a lot of people do come here to learn and read, even if they don't post. You never know what little factoid might help someone else in their journey or inspire them along the way.
All of that to say, thanks to this crew for all of the support and feedback! It makes a world of difference!

Good morning QJB and menuers!
Happy Tuesday! Sounds like you're going to have a good day, and with popcorn.
QOTD- Water, liquids, and naps are my plans for the day. Might try watching an episode of the show physical 100 out of Korea. Not much of a holidays person overall and Valentine's day to me was always about sugar and cut flowers. It always made me sad to have to watch a beautiful bouquet die, so my partners always knew that. Random celebrations have been much more fun in my book, personally. And less crowded.
Today is the last day I took off from work and I'm still lightheaded, so yep, hydration is at the top of the list today. At least half my liquids before any food, and I'm getting there.
Accountability- Just eating late for me since I ended up napping for hours yesterday. I probably don't recommend the trip to Walmart so soon after surgery. Like, at all. Foods were okay, just late.
Exercise - More laps around the house and coffee table. Many pretending to chase the pup with his ball.
Menu
Breakfast- Protein pudding, crustless quiche
Snack - Cottage cheese
Lunch - Chicken soup with veggies and cauliflower rice, small mandarin
Snack - Ratio blueberry
Dinner - Red beans with sausage, seaweed
Have an amazing day everyone!
