Good morning! I am loving everyone's pics. I'm not a Luddite but I struggle like hell to upload pics here. Everyone has told me how and it never works. Next time I'm in person with one of y'all I'll get a tutorial.
QOTD: I can find any slide or presentation. Everyone at work knows that about me. "Remember that one slide with logos that I think we used with an analyst maybe last summer?" Yep, I send it right over. It's the weirdest superpower to have a photographic memory about PPT and Google slides but it comes in handy!
I'm continuing to heal day by day. yesterday and today I started my day with a 3 mile walk trying to build back up my strength. My PCP cleared me for soft solids (chicken, cheese, potatoes, pasta, etc) but NO SPICE! I'm on an anti-reflux diet. No acid from tomato soup, no spices and no sauces. A piece of my soul died. That being said, the pain and mental toll and financial hit of the surgery for the marginal ulcer two weeks ago WILL keep me on the straight and narrow!
B: ever roast chicken, havarti cheese, a bit of avocado (first real solid meal and seems to be a success yay!)
L: the last of the matzoh balls soup that has some chicken in it too for protein
D: TBD the fam is having pasta with ground turkey meat sauce but no tomato sauce for me I could have cream of wheat (my go to) or maybe I'll make some loose crab cakes or bake crab meat with some Mayo and Dijon mustard and a teensy bit of old bay because I must! Who had crab without Old Bay?! God this no spice thing is sucky!
Have a fab weekend everyone
No spice would be so hard for me. But I am very happy you are on the road to recovery. Keep up the great work and stick to the plan.

Did they give you an operational definition of spice? Like no hot spices but not hot ones are ok? I mean there are people that think of just regular black pepper as a spice but I hope that's not your doctor.

I think we have a friend in common who thinks black pepper is spicy lololol!
She didn't say black pepper. Im using it! My next step is to see a gastroenterologist and see if the Protonix is working to heal the ulcer and for at least six weeks I'm on this low acid diet. Dang it. But hey it's better than the pain and surgery so I'll keep on keepin' on!
Are you mocking me?

Britannica says:
black pepper, (Piper nigrum), also called pepper, perennial climbing vine of the family Piperaceae and the hotly pungent spice made from its fruits.
Not just a spice, but a HOTLY PUNGENT SPICE. Which, I've decided, would be my drag name.

in a sweeping generalization, I can definitely see BRITAINica describing pepper as hot. Fortunately they now have curry as the national dish:-)
