What's on your Thursday Menu?
I decided to get my braces in my early 40's. That was painful. The had to separate my jaws to align my teeth, so I couldn't chew for 4-5 months. I thought I would lose weight, living off protein shakes, practically liquid diet. Except most ice creams - you can lick without chewing, or chocolate, etc. So I gained weight. Ice cream also helped with the jaw- teeth pain. That was my excuse. I lost some weight during first 2 months but the last 3 months - I gained it back and then some.
I had to have 2 water pick machines - one at work, another at home. I really have to have those, and of course sonic tooth brushes, soft bristle.
Good luck. Hugs.

Yep, that does sound really painful! I can't imagine what that entails having gone through for months. Though ice cream might have had its perks.
I'm currently in that boat of thinking this is going to help streamline the rest of my weight loss just because I don't want to eat due to the hardware. Who knows what a couple more months will bring, though?
I hope your results were worth it to you! And thank you for sharing.

Good morning, everybody!
Trish, congratulations on the pistol squats, I meant to mention that yesterday. I can't do those.
It's raining cats and dogs here today. Plus, I double dipped lifting in the morning and Crossfit in the afternoon yesterday. All of which makes me want to curl up on the couch and watch TV this morning.
For the Super Bowl Happy Hour, Marilyn made Bloody Mary's garnished with crescent roll wrapped mini hot dogs, garlic stuffed olives, shrimp and pickles. They were yummy and one lasted for the whole hour. We were red for the Chiefs. Pretty much everyone on the call was rooting for the Chiefs. Sorry Philly people.
Marilyn said "let's try and use that black vodka that we got for the Super Bowl Happy Hour last year. (Bengals colors)" When she got it out of the liquor cabinet, there was only about 2 inches left. No doubt explaining why some of the boy's late night video gaming sessions were so loud. (If DD drank it she would have sent us a stream of texts inviting us to join her for artisanal snacks and ****tails with 47 ingredients that we don't know how to make.)
Then we watched The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard. Despite Salma, it was not good. Comparatively, Hot Tub Time Machine, which we watched on Saturday, was a timeless classic.
QOTD: Marilyn could answer much better, but the Prudhome Blackening Spice and our old cottage cheese are two. They don't make my car model anymore (Infiniti QX70). But I think I will move to a truck when I no longer need to drive in the city.
Breakfast: Fritatta
Lunch: Steak
Dinner: TBD
Have a great day, all!

Those Bloody Mary's sound awesome!! The 47 ingredients made me laugh. My son cooks like that - over the top!

pistol squats - I should have added that I have to hold on to something with one of my hands/arms. Like the bathroom vanity counter. I think I'd fall over if I attempted them with both arms straight out in front of me (like you're supposed to!). It's still a pretty good quad workout, though - or at least, I most definitely feel it!!!
