My mind starts up like that meme if I wake up in the early morning (think 4am) making it nearly impossible to fall back asleep. All weekend I woke up around 4:15am. Today though I woke up to the alarm at 5am since I am at work today for a meeting. Go figure, the day I need to get up I could have slept in!

I have found that since I have lost weight, if I need to stand a lot, I need the cushion of shoes otherwise my toes will go numb from the pressure on my heels. We have hardwood floors; this is where I really notice it. I can relate to feeling old from standing or wearing crappy shoes..

I had a nice weekend, although it feels really short since I am working today when I am usually off. I plan on taking Friday off instead which will give me a 4-day weekend coming up. DD and I went to A Knock at the Cabin. I thought the acting was really good, good story line, the movie kept me engaged. There was no plot twist, which you would expect in a movie like this. I did go to the yoga inversion workshop and did learn a few new things but still struggle with the crow pose...I am still one class behind on my 30 workouts in 30 days challenge since I didn't feel like going in the morning, showering, then going back a few hours later. I may try a double workout on next Monday with one in the morning, then Pilates in the evening.

QOTD: I don't have a go to cure for hiccups. I just let them run their course. How terrible would it be if you were one of the people who had hiccups for years at a time!

Accountability: excellent

B: triple zero greek yogurt with berries, keto granola, cold brew with half n half

L: Asian chicken salad with light sesame ginger dressing

S: protein frosty

D: Summer berry salad with light poppy seed dressing

S: 6 squares sf chocolate

E: 60 min Inferno Pilates, might go do back, rear delts, biceps weights

You know, the last few weeks my feet have been feeling very bony and can hurt when I step wrong. I wonder if that loss of padding contributes to the extra pain in feet. Well, I'm sure it does but it's kind of an epiphany in the moment. :) too bad weight loss doesn't impact width or height so much!

It will! I went from wide shoes to regular. I have one pair of my old shoes and they are essentially very loose slippers at this point

me too - I went from wide width to regular. Some people go down a numerical size, too (mine is the same - it's just the width that's changed)

I resemble that meme, my brain is the hamster on the wheel constantly running and you hear the squeak squeak squeak of the wheel.

QOTD- Holding my breath, having someone scare me, nothing I've found is very effective.

I took the afternoon on Friday off and drove to the beach. I managed to get soaked before I even made it close to the water. The rain was crazy. But I did get what I wanted smoked salmon from Barnacle Bills.

I didn't do much this weekend just relaxed, I tried to do some work on Saturday but couldn't get into the system I needed. So I gave up on that. I did watch Bullet Train and it wasn't very good.

I ate a lot of smoked salmon this weekend, but I figured it's ok since it's protein, or at least that was my rationalization.

We did giant shrimp skewers for dinner, shrimp, red & yellow peppers, red onion and pineapple, plus mushrooms for my roommate. They were good! So my eating was pretty good this weekend.

I got a chromecast so I can do my 24 hour fitness workouts on my bedroom TV, now I just need to actually do them.

Our monthly neighborhood lunch is tomorrow. It will get me out of the house, and I love my neighbors.

Have a great day everyone!

Smoked salmon has a ton of nutrients. I'd count it, too! And your shrimp sounds delicious!

G'morning all!

Coming off a very enjoyable weekend. I wi**** didn't end. Flew down to OC for a show and dinner date with DH. Fun fun fun. But the main reason was seeing DS the next day in SD. Considering he is not an early riser, we planned to do Lisa's stairs first. Good thing I texted her before we left for SD because we were putting the coordinates of completely another set of stairs in SD, we would have been doing something completely different. After a good quick workout on the stairs met up with DS. How I miss that boy on a daily basis. He has grown his beard and with his hair long and curly he looks a lot like Forrest Gump during the phase he was running across the country. I told him so. His 21st bday is in about 12 days so we had a ton of presents for him and afterwards took him to REI to get him all the camping gear he needs, part of his more presents. Towards late afternoon we met up with his gf and took them out to dinner. They chose a cute Italian restaurant in downtown SD. I almost didn't wanna leave. Kept hugging him and squeezing him to get my quota for the next 2-3 months. Got home around midnight last night.

QOTD: if I drink water with my food I do get the hiccups. All I can do is wait. Holding breath or drinking more water (things that I had heard during childhood) do not cure it.

Behold...Lisa's stairs

My meals yesterday:

  • Coffee & donut holes
  • Epic chicken & protein puffs
  • Focaccia bread, veggie hummus, salsiccia puzza (only the toppings)
  • E: Lisa's stairs

Happy start of the week!

Time flies, right?
I remember him being a little boy and my snuggle bug, and now he walks around with a beard!

I thought of your husband, because when we spoke last night we talked about graduation next year and a number of the parents have said that since these kids didn't get prom, spring sports, high school graduation, etc. that they deserved a huge college graduation party.

My son said "we are engineers, we don't go to parties."
