What's on your (PHOTO) Friday Menu?
My friend used to drive to Canada all the time to see her grandmother. She ended up marrying one of the guards who check tourists at the border. They lived for 20 years somewhere in a freezing cold part of Canada. Her arthritis got terrible there and they moved to Colorado. She feels better, but he complains about the heat in summer. She tells him to stay in the swimming pool to cool off because she is not going back to Canada.
Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
Keith is an American, and a guy. He doesn't like too much heat. But with me in the house -I freeze him. Kind off - I wear a t-shirt and i m hot, he puts on a jacket (yes, at home). In bed 0 he gets double blanket when is cold, i may double my waffle cotton blanket. But mostly use as a single layer. But I need socks to bed - my feet have arthritis, and as much as I used to love have freezing toes- not they get cold - they hurt so bad the pain wakes me up. I gave up, bought cotton short socks to sleep in. ugh.

it's like that in Wisconsin vs North Carolina (where I lived before here). Wisconsin is humid in the summer, but dry in the winter. NC was humid all year around. The weather could get pretty bad sometimes in the mountains (because of the altitude. The rest of the state had really mild winters). But those mountain winters - snow and cold. And because it was humid, that cold went right to the bone. It felt much colder there than here at roughly the same temps.

Happy Friday! I feel like this has been a long week, but a good week.
QOTD-I laughed a little at the QOTD. My top three old people talents are, I can make a casserole out of anything. I don't want to Venmo. And, I have been known to wear compression socks with capri pants and tennis shoes. ( this was only at work though and in my defense, all the people there are over 80)
Food plan for today-
Protein shake with cold brew
Ham, swiss, and spinach frittata
Insides out of 2 chicken street tacos
Some sort of stirfry. I have some veggies that need to get used and a chicken breast thawed.
Vitamins always and lots of water. I use the Unjury vitamins. 1 multi, vit D, vit B, 2 celebrate calcium chews and Proferrin iron.
Exercise today will be stretching, Elliptical and lower body.

I need to see a pic of this.
I wear compression socks on long (more than 5 hours) flights but totally hide them because I feel like it is an old person thing to do.

I also do not have cash apps. My coworker laughed at me once when I gave her $20 once and just said "Venmo".

Morning. In SC we get rain. Yesterday was a nasty day, and many accidents on the road. I left work early to get acupuncture, chiropractor adjustments and then get gas and a few items from Costco. Driving home was a chore because the road was crowded, moving really slowly. There were a few accidents (rain and dark), but by the time I got on the hwy, things very moving. Very slowly, but moving. Plus people were getting off at every exit, so the side roads were probably as bad, if not worse.
I got ozone injections in my shoulder yesterday (during acupuncture). That really helps healing but the day after it hurts more. So today is going to be a whole day with brace day. I'm much better in utilizing my left arm for picking up things, but even working with a computer mouse is bothersome on ad days. Ugh.
My cat Dewey is soon congested lately. He has skin issues and now either a cold, or severe allergies to something. He gets very clingy when he is not feeling well. In my face clinging. Poor boy. Keith is going to take him to the vet tomorrow. BTW- because of his skin issues- I started giving him krill oil caplets. That really started helping with just skin sensitivities but maybe he is allergic to shellfish? Ugh. It that's it - stopping that plus eliminating other shellfish from his diet (he loves shrimps)may help with other issues?
QOTD: o boy, where do I start? I'm a night owl, but since I work full time and I need to get up early, I get very tired and go to bed before 11. But I have to force myself to do it. Plan for it - take my "before bed" supplements around 9:30-10, then I pass out. Sometimes on a sofa. At my age, I've got way too many doctors- specialist. And I take too many Rx meds. My doc finally gave up on hoping my hypothyroid would recover so now I'm on generic synthroid. Let's hope this works. There are things that I just "don't do". Big "nope". I don't mind staying up late at home, but going out late? Nope. Big "NOPE".
Accountability: I'm on keto type diet for the last few weeks. Yesterday I got tempted to eat some chocolate. 5 pieces. Not only I got runs, but this morning i woke up with throbbing hands and burning in my knees (arthritis). But, when I got home after Costco last night, I was tempted to eat a danish instead of dinner. Nice and fresh. But I resisted ...and had some frittata and cheese. If I ate the pastry, my joins today would scream at me instead of just murmuring. Yes, my arthritis is very sensitive to my diet. It takes at least a week, if no longer, to reduce inflammation after I had significantly amount of crap to eat or alcohol.
Today plan:
B: Coffee+ tea, more tea, electrolytes
L: some meat, or eggs, 1/2 large apple
D: same as lunch.
With the bad weather I can't eat off plan because my arthritis is going to make me pay for it.
