Have an awesome time!

Grim and I always laugh when we are at a pub at 5pm and we are 40 years younger than everyone else. We don't even get discounts--we are just hungry, lol.

Good luck with the doctor! I had something similar with my right knee after I hyper-extended it climbing down a goat path on the Faroe islands. Going down a lot of stairs still makes it flare up but it's improved dramatically. Hope your doctor doesn't restrict you too much!

Enjoy your weekend-it sounds amazing!

Good morning from Temecula, CA. We are all set up and have a nice spot with plenty of room for our bbq and fire pit for tonight. I was successful yesterday on exercise and mostly on food. My tracker said I got in nearly 18,000 steps and forty flights of stairs. Food was a bit more challenging, since two meals were at restaurants, but I picked as well as I could and then tore things apart just for the insides.

Today's plan is to hot lap it around this RV Park and the casino/hotel until I rack up more then 30 minutes. Then we have friends coming to bbq with us. Other than that, not much happening.

QoTD I was born old. Regimental and scheduled and everything in its place. But I officially owned it the day we were on the boardwalk at the beach and two gorgeous young guys wearing nothing but board shorts came roller blading towards me...and my first thought was, Honey, I hope guys are wearing sunscreen.

menu today is pretty set

b: frittata that I pre baked for today and apple/orange salad

l: left over chicken breast and salad with avo dressing

d: stuffed flank steak, broccoli salad and a couple small baby potatoes.
And yes, I will have a glass or two of wine around the fire.
Peace Everybody! Stay warm and safe.

You were always a mama, and taking care of everybody. That doesn't mean you are old. You were trying to mom those boys in board shorts.

Similar story but a different reaction - DD in high school started taking zero period (start at 6:30 am) before she could drive so I would drive her. The football team had practice early mornings too. One day at drop off it just so happened that the whole football team crossed the path right in front of my car while I sat there with my mouth open. Afterward I slapped myself that they could have been my sons while I was sitting there admiring them. Very bad, very very bad.

Sounds like you had a fun night!

I always wonder about how people can show so much skin in the sun but then, I pretty much glow in the dark. I wear long sleeves and long pants almost all the time. And mostly high necked shirts. Anytime I feel sun on my skin it literally feels like I start baking. All of that to say, it makes me cringe to see people with almost nothing on because I assume they bake, too!

Speaking of cold temps, we are at the tail end of a cold snap including negative degree windchills. It's supposed warm up in the new couple days. Here's a picture from that cold that is pretty characteristic of Chicagoans in winter:

Weekend is shaping up to be pretty chalk full of activities and catching up. I'm looking forward to sleeping until 8a tomorrow. I'm also looking forward to Sunday to have time to work on and complete a couple papers. I might even be able to cross a couple of items off on my 'To do-not a priority' list.

QOTD - At my ripe old age, I want to yell at kids, "Get off my lawn." I refer to youth as, 'kids these days' or 'when I was growing up...' I no longer like to drive at dark. This is especially the case in the suburbs, with the lack of streetlights compared to the city. I walk very slowly. I want to call young people, 'whipper snappers.'

B: Dannon Light and Fit Coconut Yogurt, Tangerine.

L: Salad with ham and turkey.

D: Lemongrass chicken leftovers.

S: pre-rationed serving of cheese corn.

HW: 371 SW(8/9/21): 324 CW: 215. 0 lbs til goal of skin reduction surgery. I'm still looking for a new plastic surgeon.

In a tshirt in that freezing cold?
I thought only teenagers aka whipper snappers disdain their coats, no matter what temperature.
